I have had many Greek meals and this one was one of the best. The squid was prepared perfectly. The main entrees of moussaka and lamb were done and presented well. The Greek wine list was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

In town for a business conference, a colleague and I chose Mourayo for dinner. The hotel concierge got us a reservation at a decent dinner time (7pm instead of 8:30), and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When the bill was presented, we asked if it could be split, as we were from different companies, had to submit separate expense reports,... More

I happened to read another review that raved about the signature pork medallions in fig honey sauce, which I ordered as a house specialty. Unfortunately, the sauce was almost cloyingly sweet and the dish not impressive (in spite of artful presentation). My husband had the branzino roasted in salt, which was moist and tasty but not extraordinary (as the same... More

I had the pork loin medalions with figs in a honey almond sauce and it was perfectly done. My son had the filet mignon and this was also an excellent dish. The very large greek salad was a perfect accompaniment. The service was attentive.

I have never been a fan of Greek cuisine, but Mourayo has converted me! Our party of 4 dined on a Friday evening (we had made reservations), and were promptly seated. We started with a wonderfully flavorful feta cheese in sesame seeds on an apricot honey puree, and a tasty grilled octupus salad with "ink" vinagrette, in a stunning presentation... More

Went during the week ... Be aware kitchen is slow .... Chalk it up to individual meal preparation. Conversation kills the wait.? But you can struggle to hear at bigger tables (3abreast). Good meal: had lamb chops, branzano, scallops, pork loin and pasta. Saw whole fish served after skin & bones removed. No starters just entrees. Good side veggy combo... More

If you think "gyros" when you think Greek, Mourayo will come as a pleasant surprise. Although the dishes are still what some might call plain old Greek cooking, the ingredients and preparation make for some very good food. My wife and I are new to the neighborhood and made a last minute reservation on what turned out to be a... More

Started off with a drink at the bar, which was accompanied by spiced olives, a nice touch, except the toothpicks that accompanied the olives were wrapped in plastic. I ordered the Kavouropita (which resembled crab rangoon from a carryout, in a sort-of good one), Salata Santorini (forgettable), and Lavraki me Aginares (I'd eat again), which did not come out in... Let's face it, the Greeks aren't neessarily know for their culinary prowess, but Mourayo seems to take traditional dishes and add a modern twist. It really is worth a visit and was recommended by our Guest House as their favourite restaurant. If on the menu, try the poached pear, simple but really good. One confusing aspect was the Greek Wine... More

Felt like a family-run establishment (a good thing) which made the meal even more enjoyable. Good location, fine selection of options, etc. Great service and well worth the visit if you wish to dine around Dupont Circle
