Yummy

Excellent food. We had a total of six dishes and every one of them was top notch. The service was friendly and professional. The corkage charge is...FREE, for the first bottle. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is an outstanding restaurant. If I still lived in DC it would be a regular go-to.

The waiter said that he doubted that the chef would make any substitutions due t food allergies. He related and asked because they were not busy (understatement). Had rubbery octopus as an appetizer. Lamb chops were palatable. My companion had the $30 prix fixe with salmon appetizer, mousaka main, and Greek dessert. On the whole, this place was not as... More

This Greek restaurant is miles above the average Greek moussaka joint. Staff are very helpful (ask for recommendations). Very nice wine list - completed dispelled my idea that Retsina is all there was in Greek vintages. But the food (presentation, flavor) tops it all. It's pricy, but I would say very good in terms of value per dollar.

Conveniently located near Dupont Circle, a quiet, elegant (white tablecloth) and authentic Greek restaurant with a range of appetizers and entrees, with an emphasis on seafood and fish. The sardine appetizer and lamb stew entree were delicious and portions were generous. The only downside was the terrible (to my palate) "authentic" white wine/liquor on special. I couldn't drink it but... More

Ate here last night, what a great place. We ordered off the summer menu, my date got the Mousakas “Stymfalis” and I got the Kotopoulo “Kataifi” - Fabulous. And the wine: 2012 Mitravelas Estate Agiorgitiko Red on Black - WOW! Was it ever good. Nice quiet dinner, service was excellent, everything was perfect. Will be back.

I ate dinner here on a quiet Sunday night and the food was delicious, filling, and reasonably priced. I had their special 3 course summer menu option. The staff was very friendly, and so were the other patrons I spoke to. The decor is very sleek and modern, it doesn't go in for the kitschy Greek decorations that so many... More

Honestly you must try the houlumi, duck mousakka and sardines, black shrimp Ravioli was amazing. Might not be a typical Greek menu but my word they can cook. Ignore the bad reviews this place is exceptional.

We were able to get a last minute reservation and were pleasantly surprised by the nice ambiance, excellent service and delicious food. Interesting Greek wine list; not just the usual retsina. Very solicitous service and qa nice menu selection. Worth a visit.

My wife and I walked past this restaurant for two days before deciding to try it on our last night in Washington DC. We were the first customers in for dinner and such a treat it was! They brought out a basket of flatbread that was nicely speckled with oregano and ent great with the olive oil on the table.... More

An elegant but unpretentious Greek restaurant a short walk from the Churchill Hotel, the Mourayo offers pleasant service and tasty fare, including some yummy vegetarian appetizers (the eggplant is lovely) and a nice selection of wines. We went there for dinner both nights of our recent stay in Washington.
