Right near the DC Hilton on Connecticut Ave is an amazing Greek restaurant which has some truly fine cuisine! We strolled two blocks from the hotel, went to Mourayo and lingered for about 90 minutes. The maitre d' was gracious and the food was just sublime! You won't go wrong!

Mourayo is the best Greek restaurant I've eaten in outside of Crete. The Greek wine served here is excellent and with good reason you wont find Retsina on the wine list. The lamb dishes are my favorite along with the vegetarian appetizer platter which includes beets, beans, grilled vegetables and tzatziki. Mourayo is also one of the few restaurants where... More

Very expensive, good service, terrible food. Did not meet expectations. Would not recommend to others

Mourayo is fabulous! The food is great, the service is wonderful (but not fawning), and the entire experience is a pleasure. For inventive and authentic Mediterranean food, this is the place to visit in DC!

Fairly good Greek food. SOme different takes on well-known dishes. I can't rate in based on DC Greek restaurants, since this was the only one I ate at. I like Retsina wine, but what was served here was not good. Typical cave-like Greek restaurant. Very nice by the big windows, which are open in good weather.

We went here because so many trip advisor reviewers seemed to like it. We were disappointed. The food was fair, and the atmosphere is a bit formal for a Greek restaurant. The wait staff is stuffy and unfriendly. It really is not a fun place; no flaming saganaki, fabulous feta, or even good fish dishes. The seating is not very... More

This is the spot for a special dinner! I had an amazing pork dish with a honey glaze that I may have to return to DC just to eat it again. We actually ate at the bar, which was fun--met some neat people and the bartender was excellent.

I have had many Greek meals and this one was one of the best. The squid was prepared perfectly. The main entrees of moussaka and lamb were done and presented well. The Greek wine list was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.

In town for a business conference, a colleague and I chose Mourayo for dinner. The hotel concierge got us a reservation at a decent dinner time (7pm instead of 8:30), and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. When the bill was presented, we asked if it could be split, as we were from different companies, had to submit separate expense reports,... More

I happened to read another review that raved about the signature pork medallions in fig honey sauce, which I ordered as a house specialty. Unfortunately, the sauce was almost cloyingly sweet and the dish not impressive (in spite of artful presentation). My husband had the branzino roasted in salt, which was moist and tasty but not extraordinary (as the same... More
