Mixed feelings on this one at Dupont Circle

I met a friend here for lunch mid-week. It was pouring rain and the place was virtually empty at the peak of the lunch hour - despite its location. The maitre d' was absolutely surly when he met me at the door and showed me to a table (sorry - did I drip rainwater on your floor ????). You'd think... read more

Had not been here in a few years. As good as we remember. Excellent appetizers and soups. Flatbread options are wonderful. Bread is outstanding. Service is somewhat inattentive but it was a busy Saturday noon time.

The irony is, this was possibly the friendliest and most attentive service I have ever experienced - but what can I tell you, the food was terrible. We were eight people and ordered a range of things from soup to fish to meat and dessert. Maybe they have a new cook? All of us thought the food was dreadful. The... More

Had a wonderful dinner on their patio on a recent trip. Were looking for an "old favorite" that has recently closed, and when that was not available, started walking back toward the hotel, knowing that there would be a plethora of possibilities. Saw Levantes, liked the look of the patio, and decided to take a chance. Good choice on our... More

I have eaten at Levantes for many years and like their food, but I just received my credit card statement and was disappointed to see that the $8.25 sandwich I picked up last week came through as a $19.26 charge. I don't have my receipt to try and resolve this, but it doesn't matter. I won't patronize a business I... More

We were looking for a Turkish restaurant for dinner and luckily we found Levantes where is full of hospitality and friendly. I felt myself like I was in my home. Especially manager Mr Jacob is one of the best reason for eating there. I've never seen a manager, so close and with full of respect, ever. Thx for everything Levantes... More

We stopped at Levantes because we wanted to watch the World Cup game. Most everywhere else was full and Levantes had outdoor seating where we could watch the game. The menu is pricey, but it's good food. Also right across the street from the DC Metro.

The flavorless food was greasy, slapped onto the plates, without form and void. The best bit? The waiter had greasy food marks all over his jacket; it was really disgusting. It's not even worth saying more. Dupont Circle has some very good and reliable restaurants; don't go here.

Excellent food. Reasonable prices. On a nice day, a table outside under the umbrellas is a great way to spend the lunch hour. Dressy enough for a business lunch but priced to also be somewhere to meet friends. We've done dinner here and at their Bethesda location and same comments apply.
