We've been here on our first night in DC for two years in a row. The margaritas are just what's needed after a long flight and guarantee a good night´s sleep in the fight against jet lag! And this time we were lucky to arrive early for Happy Hour. Our 2 margaritas, guacamole dip, taco de carnitas and banana empanada... More

The food was perfect, very delicious and the prices are pretty fair. A corona beer for $6.99, Burrito $10.99 (lunch offer). Enjoy life!

I would definitely recommend it. The food was very tasty and the service was excellent. I had a groupon for $40 worth of food for $20 and it was well worth it. I recommend the Tamarind Margarita.

We moved to the DC area 2+ years ago, and have struggled mightily to find a decent Mexican restaurant. We purchased a voucher for El Tamarindo through Living Social and hit pay dirt. The food is fresh, hot, and authentic (we moved here from Colorado, so have a pretty good ability to judge good Mexican restaurants). The pupusas were delicious.... More

Had a fantastic and authentic meal at El Tamarindo which we found for the first time on Trip Advisor when staying in DC in the Dupont Circle area. Just a short walk to Adams Morgan, this restaurant offers authentic good from El Salvador and Mexico. The most difficult aspect of dining is selecting what to eat! I over- ordered because... More

Stumbled here by accident. ...everything else was closed for labor day. Great food. I had the enchalada poblano with chicken. Fantastic sauce. Great beans. The rice (which I wouldnt have ate anyway...too many carbs) was so-so. My wife had the shrimp salad. It was awesome. Too much for her to eat....took enough home for her to eat for dinner.. got... This restaurant is located in nice walkable neighborhood above Dupont Circle. We were seated right away but after that the service that evening was very slow. The waitress seemed to be in a bit of a daze. The first bowl so salsas she brought to our table with chips was all liquid. It had a great flavor so we asked for another with... More

We found this little spot over 5 years ago and have enjoyed every meal. We went this past weekend and found the food to be status quo - authentic and delicious. I had the Guanaca Combination (vegetarian style) and my husband branched out and tried some chicken and bean salad. We both greatly enjoyed our meals and were pretty darn... More

Great meal and atmosphere! Had the shrimp enchiladas, twin burritos and trios enchiladas. Even the rice and the black beans were fab!

I stopped in for lunch. The food was average, although the atmosphere was pleasant. I don't think I'd head here over some other local places, but it was acceptable.
