The ambience is super busy and a bit noisy if you eat in the front section, the back room is much quieter and more relaxed! The most surprising item on the menu was the baby turnips, they were sweet and very tasty. Exit through the lounge / lobby area to admire the interesting mix of decor, would be nice to... More

the poste had few choices on the menu and all were very high - ok expected in dc, but i never minded paying those prices at nearby restaurants which had great food. the staff so-so.

We stopped by Poste for brunch prior to an early afternoon hockey game. No tables were available, so we sat at the bar. Very comfortable stools, foot rests and not cramped. The room is light and bright. Service was a bit frantic - one bar tender doing table orders, bar guests and some tables. It was good to see another... More

Poste is a nice place to eat - OK service, good food, terrific setting, but…it leaves you felling like you could have been to one of several restaurants who follow the template of OK food served with that "flair" that seems so common today (small portions, somewhat pricey, general average flavor). Because there are so many nice restaurants in DC... More

I went with friends for DC Restaurant week (dinner) and the food was exceptional. The ‘limited’ RW menu had great options making it difficult to choose. For a starter I had the Apple & Parsnip Bisque with crispy duck confit which was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Two of my friends had the mussels (which they thought were... More

I met a friend here for drinks and dinner, the atmosphere was perfect for catching up, quiet enough with nice atmosphere and seating that makes you feel a bit removed from other diners. The cocktails were great with an interesting selection. The star of the evening was the Onion Soup Burger. I think this is the best burger I have... More

I was there for brunch. I thought the food was well made. The atmosphere is somewhat old-fashioned, but pleasant and satisfying. Watching them cook was interesting. Not a fast food joint.

The food would have been better in the restaurant, but we ordered room service. It was fine, but, traveling with kids, the food was a bit rich for their tastes. The veggies that came with the meal were good, the macaroni and cheese was not to the liking of my son's friend, due to the different cheeses he was accustomed... More

My fiance and I were really excited to try Poste Brasserie and we left very pleased with the whole experience. We were fortunate to have Rachel as our server who had been working at Poste for three years and had a very thorough knowledge of the menu as well as the building's history. Leonard also stopped by to check in... More

For many years, we enjoyed and looked forward to a meal at this restaurant. All that came to an end last week. The place is looking a bit shabby--scratched tables, missing chunks in railings, and (most telling) less people eating there. The food was mediocre. Neither of us finished any of our dishes. The pommes frites were plain ol' french... More
