Well, many people come here just because they served so many presidents, including JFK and Jackie. However, it is a very good place for dinner, especially but not only steak! Also nice atmosphere, very good service and still (for this location) reasonable pricing. Have been here multiple times, they never let me down. Last time I had a filet steak,... More

Went to the tavern for the first time today and took a seat at the bar to order some breakfast. I was handed a menu but the bartender never came back to ask for my order. I sat there for 10 minutes twiddling my thumbs. No big deal, stuff happens, but I finally decided to get up and leave when... More

Restaurant is in Georgetown- very easy to find. The food is fabulous and priced much less than you expect. Ask for the history sheet and you will be blown away. I hope to use this over and over again for my personal DC tours.

We loved the food, all of the history that has taken place here: JFK proposed to Jacqueline here, Sam Rayburn and LBJ dined here. Parking can be challenging, but the manager was very helpful in giving us advice on best areas to park. Great food, would go again on our next trip.

We decided to have our office luncheon after the New Year rather than cram it in before Christmas. Martin's Tavern was quite good… nicely accommodated out group. Nice variety of food--something for everyone.

We didn't even sit down. The hostess was so extremely rude to us that we refused to take our seat and walked out. We walked in on a Saturday morning around 10:30. The hostess approached us from across the restaurant asking us loudly if we had reservations. We said no. She scowled and then flippantly said "you can sit over... More

Very old bar with lots of famous guests over the years. The booths are named after patrons. jFK was a regular back in the day. Went for brunch, couldn't believe how good value it was. For the history and ambience definitely worth a visit.

One of my "go-to" places, I've eaten here probably 20 times in the past 10 years during frequent travel to DC. I've never had a bad meal or felt ripped off. Service is very good. Not a hot spot for a young crowd, but an understated dependable quiet place for middle-aged folks to get consistently good food (and drink), just... More

This is one of those restaurants were everyone famous has dined, and so we did too. Food was good, service was very good and the restaurant has a fun and interesting past to read about. Very tight, but that seems to be the norm inside DC restaurants.
