Fun mezze Mediterranean menu

Apparently a real popular spot as we approached the place and it seemed full at 8PM on a Monday when we had our reservation, but we were seated promptly and had a fun al fresco eve with our waiter Hector. Two of us spent 2 hours there, sharing wine, the small mezze plates and great conversation... read more

It is truely Hit and Miss! The cuisine is a hit; the service is a miss. This restaurant is litterly one block from my home. Hope they work on improving their service to be able to compete with the new restaurants coming to the City Center.

On a recent DC trip, we had dinner at Zatinya. Since it was a very hot and humid evening we chose to eat inside although the patio looking inviting. The dining room was certainly cooler, but was fairly noisy and conversation was difficult at times. The service was attentive, if a bit disorganized, and the prices a bit high, but... More

Zaytinya is one of my "go to" restaurants, and I'm never disappointed! Great good, service and atmosphere! I have always been able to sit in the smaller seating area near the front right of the restaurant, and I like that a lot, as I get the sense that the larger area is noisier. Regardless, I've always had a great experience!

My daughter was in charge of picking restaurants during our Washington D.C. trip. She saw good reviews on multiple sites for Zaytinya, so when we happened to walk by, she remembered the name and we stopped for a late lunch/snack. Our girls (12 and 14) are pretty adventurous eaters and loved both the food and decor of the restaurant. We... More

We were seated on the upper level overlooking the restaurant...loved this table location. Decided on the Chef Experience....the food from appetizer through dessert : great appetizer selection ; the salad perfect between courses; then fish; chicken and lamb ...perfectly spiced and marinated ! And then dessert....not too sweet and just enough. Only caution...the appetizers are plenty so go slowly and... More

between museum visits, stopped for lunch with a friend and it was great -- wonderful variety of small plates, lots of delicious flavors and textures, and a fun place to sit and look out the window!

Zaytinya, after many years, is still terrific. Sitting at the bar with friends or at a table on a date, they continue to send out great food. Washington has many places to eat small plates, but this place continues to be one of my favorites. A group of us went for Easter brunch this year. The menu for the brunch... More

Zaytinya is so convenient to DC's Metro and Chinatown. Great spot for happy hour - either inside or out. Seating in bar area a bit challenging at times, especially on game nights at the Verizon Center. Super happy hour small plates and super selections of tasty Greek wines.

Zaytinya is another great success for acclaimed chef Jose Andreas who has the great gift of finding just the right professionals for the kitchen and the staff in his wide variety of ethnic cuisine restaurants. Zaytinya is Turkish/Med in a very adventurous architectural space, and has very fine outdoor seating as well. It is a sincere compliment to the kitchen... More
