My daughter took me here for Mother's Day. They served your choice of menu item to your table. We picked different items so we could share. Everything was delicious! We celebrated our oldest daughter's 24th birthday at the restaurant this evening. Our youngest is at school at UMD. There were ten of us and we traveled from CA, Washington state and New York. Everything we ordered was absolutely wonderful. We shared everything (30 plates - 5 of which were dessert:) and we all walked away saying that it is... More

On of our co-diners doesn't eat Lamb and found it difficult to order here. Also, one of our dishes, chicken kabob, was overcooked on the outside, under on the inside. It's a fun place and some of our meal was good but overall it was a little disappointing..

A group of us went here for dinner one night. None of us had tried this type of food before, and upon mentioning this to our server, she was very helpful in giving us recommendations. All of us ordered the chef's special and were able to sample several different dishes (about 15-20 total). The food was fantastic! It was nothing... More

We love Zaytinya. The small plates are delicious. Take the time to study the menu, as, for example, there are a lot of lamb dishes, but how they are prepared and what with changes the taste of the dish significantly.

This place goes way beyond any Mediterranean restaurant I have been to in the past. Even the wine list was primarily Turkish...which worried me at first, but simply tell the bartender Michael what you like and he will find the right wine. The plates are small, almost tapas like, but that gives you the chance to try many different tastes.... More

THE best Greek/Mediterranean food i've ever had! (and I grew up with 3 local mom and pop Greek restaurants!) The thing i would like to share about this place is that the portions are small and it is suggested you order several. I haven't been to a restaurant like this before, luckily my boyfriend has and noted that its suggested... More

This was recommending to me by a co-worker before I left for DC so we went the first night at 11pm. Got seated right away, no wait at all. Good service, but the food....its tapas style so small plates but the flavors are incredible. Get the brussel sprouts and the raw kibbeh. So good we ordered more. I can't remember... More

We were drawn to this restaurant by the menu, and decided it was too good to miss. Although we hadn't booked, we managed to get a table in the bar area which was perfectly adequate. The level of service was good, and the staff were very friendly and happy to explain the menu. The food is mezze style small plates,... More

I have eaten here three times - once on an expense account, and twice on a date with my wife. If you are in Penn Quarter, at the Verizon Center or the Smithsonian Portrait Gallery, it is a great place for lunch or dinner. They have large dinner size portions, but this is meant to be a small plate sharing... More
