Best subs in DC

This is a cop shop--open 7am to 3pm weekdays only. The GMAN is the best sub in DC, hands-down for taste and price. The owner and family are awesome and I love grabbing lunch here.

Mangialoardo's has the best subs in DC. This family-run shop serves the kind of subs I grew up eating from sandwich shops, delis, and pizza parlors in Northern NJ. The meats and cheeses are quality and thinly sliced. Not shaved! Bread is fresh baked and the resultant sub is a thing of beauty! At Mangialardo's you can treat yourself to... More

I wanted to upload another review for a very simple reason -- They added lights at Wrigley Field -- and likewise, another huge change just happened here. They now accept credit cards!

A take-out place for good sandwiches. Stop by and get one from this family-run business. Various deli meat subs available in different sizes.

On the edge of Capitol Hill for years, Mangialardos is now a sub shop. It offers a variety of subs, all made to order. It has a diverse clientele, with many police customers. One of the better subs on the Hill. Take-out only. Phone in your order and bring a nice lunch back to your office mates.

Mom-and-Pop stores are definitely an endangered species, but if you're coming to visit Washington DC, and/or LIVE in DC, you really want to see this piece of living history. The family spans (at least) four generations of sandwich/sub-making, and they still operate this place. Parking isn't that difficult, and if you're a tourist, just hop on the Orange/Blue line and... Take out only and cash only. And they close at 3 PM. Best to call in your order or you'll stand around waiting during lunch hour. I've tried and enjoyed Taylor Gourmet and haven't made it to the Italian Store yet. But this is the best sub I've found outside of the White House in Atlantic City, my personal favorite.... More

My love of subs takes second chair to nobody. In my view, the Doube GMan that I ate yesterday was probably the best italian sub I've ever eaten.
