The food was great and the staff was even better. The manager Robert and Toni made us feel special. It was my wife's birthday and they made her feel like she was the only person in the restaurant. We ended up eating there twice. Robert and Toni thank you again and your staff. It was so nice to speak with... More

WE went to the 14th and U area the other night. While walking there, we decided to stop into DC Coast. They did have tables available, but we went into the bar first. We waited, and waited, and waited. Finally someone threw menus to us. Then we waited, and waited. NO service, no welcome no nothing. Needless to say, we... More

Appreciated the willingness of the wait staff and kitchen to meet my need for low sodium food preparation. Enjoyed a hamburger, without the bread, cheese, nor pickle, done as requested with sauteed onions, lettuce, tomatoes and fresh avocado (oil and vinegar on the side). While my companions enjoyed fresh rainbow trout, we all were able to enjoy both easy conversation... More

I had a meeting at the DC Convention Center and whenever I travel to DC, I try to include a dinner at the DC Coast which is six blocks away. I started with a Perfect Rye Manhattan over rocks that was perfect and actually made with rye whiskey and high end Vermouth. I had a chile relleno stuffed with goat... More

Met a large party of associates in town for meeting over lunch hour. Food and service were booth very good, DC Coast was accommodating as are party continued to grow as more folks arrived. Have been here for late evening snack as well, would definitely recommend.

The soup was good, but really, really spicy hot. I love spicy food, but it burned! The steak was so tough it was almost inedible, altough others in my party said theirs was good. I ordered rare and it was closer to medium. The servers were clueless about serving women first and serving frim the left. A minor annoyance, but... More

We were going to have a wonderful business dinner, really we were. Things started out well. 4 of us arrived first. We ordered a gin tonic, a bottle of red, a beer. Then the rest of the group came in. Others ordered their drinks as well, all alcohol. Then two of my colleagues arrived. When one of them wanted to... More

In our last night in DC we wanted to go to a "nice" restaurant and this place was highly recommended. The atmosphere was very good. We were greeted when we entered and seated promptly. The restaurant was quiet, which we appreciated after being in many fast paced places in DC. Our server was excellent and helpful. The four of us... More

Somewhat pricey (but reasonable for the neighborhood) but with very good seafood, good service and able to handle a large group easily. We were a little disappointed not to be offered a room for our 15 but they did well with us at 2 tables.

I usually love D.C. Coast - and have written fairly glowing reviews on Trip Advisor for this restaurant but my last visit was very disappointing. Service was fair - although not quite up to the standard I've previous encountered when the wait staff has been personable and helpful. Our waitress was training a new server so that might have been... More
