We were going to have a wonderful business dinner, really we were. Things started out well. 4 of us arrived first. We ordered a gin tonic, a bottle of red, a beer. Then the rest of the group came in. Others ordered their drinks as well, all alcohol. Then two of my colleagues arrived. When one of them wanted to... More

In our last night in DC we wanted to go to a "nice" restaurant and this place was highly recommended. The atmosphere was very good. We were greeted when we entered and seated promptly. The restaurant was quiet, which we appreciated after being in many fast paced places in DC. Our server was excellent and helpful. The four of us... More

Somewhat pricey (but reasonable for the neighborhood) but with very good seafood, good service and able to handle a large group easily. We were a little disappointed not to be offered a room for our 15 but they did well with us at 2 tables.

I usually love D.C. Coast - and have written fairly glowing reviews on Trip Advisor for this restaurant but my last visit was very disappointing. Service was fair - although not quite up to the standard I've previous encountered when the wait staff has been personable and helpful. Our waitress was training a new server so that might have been... More

Went here with eight other associates. The waitress wasn't too happy that we were splitting the check (and made sure we remembered that because of that we needed to give her extra gratuity). The drinks were good, and so was the food. I had the grilled chicken and the taste was great. Might go back again.

Interesting menu and food, not as fabulous as I had hoped but still very good. On the relatively pricey side but in a way this encouraged me to try the monthly set menu (generous amuse bouche, starter, main, and dessert for $55) which focused on the low countries and Southern influences and which I found nice and original on the... I've eaten at D.C. Coast 20 times over the years, and I've yet to see them make a mistake. That wouldn't mean a whole heckuva lot were it not for the fact that the restaurant is reasonably priced, offers relaxing decor, uses the freshest ingredients that it prepares and presents beautifully, and clearly takes pains in selecting and mentoring the... We were told that our server was busy by the manager when we arrived ( he did not help her, unfortunately. He had dinner at the bar instead). Server took our orders and we did not see her again until we chased them down for the bill ( they seemed upset we were asking). We were charged 8$ for water... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this DC gem. We chose the restaurant for restaurant week because all the items were off the regular menu instead of a new or consolidated menu. My boyfriend has the Stip and I had the Salmon. Both were delicious. The creme brûlée and red velvet with chocolate chips were delicious as well. It's a nice... More

I ate at this restaurant while on a business trip and it happened to be restaurant week! It was so amazing! Our waiter, Rick, was one of the best I have ever had. He suggested great things from the menu, picked the wine for us, gave us samples, and treated us like we were family! I was so impressed, I... More
