Went here with eight other associates. The waitress wasn't too happy that we were splitting the check (and made sure we remembered that because of that we needed to give her extra gratuity). The drinks were good, and so was the food. I had the grilled chicken and the taste was great. Might go back again.

Interesting menu and food, not as fabulous as I had hoped but still very good. On the relatively pricey side but in a way this encouraged me to try the monthly set menu (generous amuse bouche, starter, main, and dessert for $55) which focused on the low countries and Southern influences and which I found nice and original on the... I've eaten at D.C. Coast 20 times over the years, and I've yet to see them make a mistake. That wouldn't mean a whole heckuva lot were it not for the fact that the restaurant is reasonably priced, offers relaxing decor, uses the freshest ingredients that it prepares and presents beautifully, and clearly takes pains in selecting and mentoring the... We were told that our server was busy by the manager when we arrived ( he did not help her, unfortunately. He had dinner at the bar instead). Server took our orders and we did not see her again until we chased them down for the bill ( they seemed upset we were asking). We were charged 8$ for water... More

We were pleasantly surprised by this DC gem. We chose the restaurant for restaurant week because all the items were off the regular menu instead of a new or consolidated menu. My boyfriend has the Stip and I had the Salmon. Both were delicious. The creme brûlée and red velvet with chocolate chips were delicious as well. It's a nice... More

I ate at this restaurant while on a business trip and it happened to be restaurant week! It was so amazing! Our waiter, Rick, was one of the best I have ever had. He suggested great things from the menu, picked the wine for us, gave us samples, and treated us like we were family! I was so impressed, I... More

We dined here as a group while on a business trip. A welcome relief to me since I like to dine vs. grab a bite to eat when I'm traveling. The table size was large enough to fit everyone without feeling squeezed. The menu was not expansive but there were a variety of items to meet the needs of our... More

Eating at DC Coast was the dining highlight of our trip to Washington! Dinner, the setting, the service (thank you Jamie) were just fabulous! The restaurant is nicely laid out with an upscale atmosphere without being stuffy or intimidating. Although we are well into middle age, and obviously tourists, we were seated and treated with the utmost respect. We shared... More

I feel bad writing a critical review, but that's the game here. This isn't a cheap place and so expectations are high. Pros: beautiful decor and atmosphere, staff was super, corn chowder was awesome Cons: love tuna but my appetizer was only average (beautiful presentation but average taste), love crab cakes but the entree (recommended by our waiter) was only...
