Nice respite

I've never had the food but have dropped by a few times when in town on business. Laid back atmosphere with a very young crowd. Try the herbal tea.

Bento boxes, a crazy assortment of teas and a unique combination of foods. Teaism tends to be known by locals - but if you have the chance - go. You'll have to order and then wait for your food, but, oh, is it worth it. There is seating in main floor and upstairs. I've never had a problem getting a... More

I love this place especially their new menu but recently was there and a cockroach climbed onto our table! I still may go and maybe sit upstairs - the food is too good!

My kids and I stopped in here for a quick break from the cold. We enjoyed some tea, water, and split a cookie. It was all good. I had lunch here many years, and I recall it being excellent (check out the bento boxes).

It seems very hectic when you walk in and order at the counter, but the downstairs dining area of this restaurant is very calm. They offer a variety of cuisines, and everything we tried was excellent.

Mediterranean and Asian dishes, hot or cold, as well as tea (as the name suggests). If you want somewhere not expensive and where you don't have a waiter, try this, handy to many sights.

You can come here and sit back and relax ... what's amazing about this place is how tasty the food options are for a seemingly lounge/tea bar

My daughter is a tea fanatic so I thought this might be a nice stop for our family one afternoon on her senior trip to DC. As it turns out, the rain was pouring when we left the National Gallery of Art, so we ran through the rain (and puddles, as it turns out) to get there. We arrived dripping... More

There are several locations; but the one in Penn Quarter is probably the best overall. From noodles to salty oat cookies, the food will make you happy. Teaism does serve tea; but the menu is still an adventure. Pay attention to the daily specials.

I was travelling alone in DC and didn't really know where would be good for breakfast/brunch. I didn't want to go to a chain and I accidentally stumbled across this place which, from the outside, looks like a Chinese restaurant but I could see people eating breakfast! I quickly put the name into Trip Advisor and saw lots of positive... More
