Description: Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of...
Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: big, bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate whose interest in agriculture and aquaculture is rooted in his early years living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood combinations, like Five Spice Carolina Shrimp with Quinoa, Pomegranate, Fennel, Feta and Marcona Almond.

Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood where gathering around the table gets things done in the best possible way. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer's Steak's rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city's most impressive view of the Capitol.

Quality by the Capitol

Charlie Palmer is a quintessential Capitol Hill establishment. The high caliber food and staff make it a go-to for lawmakers, lobbyists, and fundraisers. I know a good steak and Charlie Palmer cooks them exactly as you order and juicier that you expect.

Convenient for upscale dining on Capitol Hill. Menu and decor depart from the traditional steak house. Both are a bit more modern. Menu offers great variety, decor is bright and airy.

Having worked across the street for several years, Charlie Palmer was the 'go-to' restaurant. Their steaks are always cooked to perfection, and staff is excellent. My usual lunch order is the steak house caesar with filet. Unfortunately, during my last visit, the steak was tough and fatty - such a bad cut that I could not chew several bites and... More

Look- Charlie's is known as one of the top steak houses in DC but let me tell you this- the menu is limited and leaves a lot to be desired. That being said- the bar is awesome. Its a great place to see the political and business elite mingle and have a phenomenal glass of wine and a few appetizers.... More

I've had comparable steaks and paid a fraction of the cost. Steak dinners for 2 with wine was $245. I was stunned when the check came. Will not return

The whole dining experience was just sublime. The staff were efficient and knew their wines, alcohol and food items and made appropriate recommendations to help with the overall evening. Then the food came out and the steaks just melted away in the mouth. Nothing else to say or add. You really do get what you pay for, and while it's... More

We went here for New Years Eve. Staff was nice, although we never saw the same waiter twice. I wanted the tasting menu, but my husband wanted the steak, so I was told I'd have to order something else. I ended up with the Goat Cheese Angolotti. It was nothing to write home about. Under-cooked and there a trail of,... More

Dinner for my wife and I on 30 December. The place came highly recommended including great TA reviews. The place was very quiet that evening which was understandable and we had a great table with a view of Capitol Hill. Beef Carpaccio was fabulous and my wife had the scallops with short ribs. That was lovely too. I ordered the... More

This is an expensive fine dining place near the capitol. Great wine selection and everything is what you would expect for a fine dining place in DC. Good location for the Capitol hotel district.
