Description: Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: big, bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate whose interest in agriculture and aquaculture is rooted in his early years living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood combinations, like Five Spice Carolina Shrimp with Quinoa, Pomegranate, Fennel, Feta and Marcona Almond. Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood where gathering around the table gets things done in the best possible way. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer's Steak's rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city's most impressive view of the Capitol.

Good afternoon! Last December 3, during our vacation visit to D.C. I scheduled a dinner reservation at Charlie Palmer Steak House with my beautiful and charming wife. After several reviews of other similar places in D.C. including the Prime Rib House, I decided to go to Charlie Palmer. My decision was the best I have ever made as I do... More

After a rocky start our evening was saved by Charlie Palmer. We had just had a horrible experience at Art and Soul and were sent here by our concierge. Bartender,Brad made our night. We ended up staying at the bar for dinner excellent service and food. Porterhouse for 2 was melt in your mouth good. Can't wait to revisit!

What a wonderful place to have lunch. Location, just off the capital, is outstanding. The food was excellent as well. Tables laid out so that one can have a private conversation even if the dining room is filled. I especially enjoy the sirloin steak salad and the Panini's that are offered and rotate. Service is impeccable. Presentation is well done.... More

Visited Charlie Palmers for lunch while on business trip to DC. I typically don't like steak (they do have other menu items) for lunch but couldn’t resist based on recommendation of business partner. I understand this is where some of DC’s most influential patronize and in fact happened to sit at a table next to James Carville. Both my business... More

This is what you want when you want a really good steak, sophisticated atmosphere and solid service. There are few surprises here, but who cares? I like that Charlie Palmer's takes a step away from classics like the Palm and Peter Luger's and infuses the feel with something new. It's not trying to feel like a classic in the footsteps... More

I had a business lunch at Charlie Palmer's near Capitol Hill today. I ordered from their lunchtime 3 course fixed menu. The beet salad was quite good- they didn't overwhelm the beets with too much of anything else as some places seem to do- kept it simple and tasty. I had their sliced steak for the main course, and while... More

Have been frequenting CP's for business lunches and dinners over 7 years and I'm finally driven to say this place is getting tired. Menu is limited and seldom changes, food quality is average, service is impersonal and not very attentive. Overall the experience is over priced. The location is impressive for business travelers or DC events but they seem to... More

Friday nights there is no corking fee, a plus. The service was excellent and the steaks delicious and cooked to perfection. Only complaint, unlike Ruths Chris or Capitol Grille, you have to pay for sauces. If you are paying $40+ for a steak, choice of sauce should be included.

Every time I visit DC, I entertain customers at Charlie Palmer. Every time the service and food is excellent. Todd, their GM is outstanding and insures excellence in all areas. The wine list is great, AND if you happen to bring in your own favorite, there's NO corking charge for any domestic wine! I have NEVER heard of that before... More

Superb steakhouse, and an easy walk from Capital Hill. Waiter was fun and attentive not fussy or snobby. Great place for business lunch or dinner
