Description: Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of...
Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: big, bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate whose interest in agriculture and aquaculture is rooted in his early years living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood combinations, like Five Spice Carolina Shrimp with Quinoa, Pomegranate, Fennel, Feta and Marcona Almond. Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood where gathering around the table gets things done in the best possible way. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer's Steak's rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city's most impressive view of the Capitol.

Good quality and decent service

If you want to dine with customers, having quality meat, it is a good place to go. All is impeccable, without frills and extras. Good service, good food, but don't expect something innovative. Good place for your business meal and standard steaks.

Everything hit its market at this restaurant: the steak was prepared perfectly, the sides were delicious, the sommelier was very knowledgeable and had a great personality and the waitstaff were always present to fill our water glasses and, by the way, the place was packed with patrons. This was our first time to this place but we will be back... More

One of the best steaks I've ever had. Great service. I was in Washington for a conference and the restaurant was close to the hotel. Very convenient.

Charlie Palmer's Steak lies at the foot of the US Capitol, sleek and connected. You know you are in a power lunch (or dinner) spot the moment you walk in the bar of this very attractive modernist establishment. In the dining rooms, the tables are well spaced and the noise level is moderate. The food is first class (with prices... More

There for a political function (Well, it is DC after all). Service was good, meal was fresh and tasty. Chicken and steak were ordered along with mixed green salads. Pasted on dessert. Nice atmosphere for a business function. I do not think the right place if you are looking to take a date out. I would recommend it.

We were two couples out for a nice steak close to the hyatt regency hotel. Charlie Palmer Steak was 2 short blocks away. We were seated promptly and the service was attentive. We started with two appetizers. The crab cocktail is really a good sized molded round of crab meat. Quite suitable for sharing though you would not know that... More

I've been to many different steakhouses over the years, and Charlie Palmer in DC ranks right up at the top of my list of favorites. My monthly dinner group is hoping to make this our new go-to restaurant, and our first experience in the private dining room was truly exceptional. The cocktail and wine list (which only offers American wines... More

I lived in D.C. for 25 years and spent most of that time in politics. And the last few years at a high level in politics, then a partner in a lobbying firm. Those were the days when expense accounts were abundant and certain restaurants opened to cater to those that wanted to see and be seen. Plus, it's proximity... More

If you're looking for the best steak in DC, head over to Charlie Palmer's. It's the place to rub elbows with leaders and lobbyists of America. The wine selections are extensive and sides can be shared. Not cheap, but way worth the money

Hands down, Charlie Palmer offers the best cut of meats in D.C. It also has a fine selection of choice scotchs and bourbons. I personally recommend Pappy Van Winkle which is hard to find in D.C. Now they are known for their steak but the fish special is always a great dish as well.
