Description: Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of...
Charlie Palmer Steak Washington DC, located in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters building, is dedicated to another fine master craft: big, bold American food. Under the direction of Executive Chef Jeffery Russell, a Culinary Institute of America graduate whose interest in agriculture and aquaculture is rooted in his early years living in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, the menu not only stars the best American artisan beef cuts like an aged Angus Rib-eye "Cowboy" Steak but updated locally sourced seafood combinations, like Five Spice Carolina Shrimp with Quinoa, Pomegranate, Fennel, Feta and Marcona Almond. Much more than a steakhouse, the timelessly stylish restaurant moves the political power meetings out of the back room and into private dining spaces, sleek enclaves of dark wood where gathering around the table gets things done in the best possible way. Located off the wide, open expanse of the National Mall, Charlie Palmer's Steak's rooftop terrace can accommodate 400 guests, offering the city's most impressive view of the Capitol.

Reliable Capitol Hill Dining Spot

A short walk from Capitol Hill...always good food and service. Dependable. The steaks and seafood are very good. The place won't "wow" you but the food and service are consistently good. A nice variety of cocktails. Crowded with a buzz. Popular establishment.

Food very good but very little atmosphere in a large half-empty restaurant. Service variable. Lots of helpful staff doing different roles but very little personal attention. Wasn't worth the distance we travelled for the (recommended) experience.

Recently I visited this restaurant on business. I ordered a steak, assuming that was what they specialize in given their name. Either the steak was really tough or I had a very dull steak knife, but either way I had to saw at my steak to get a bite. Plus the food came out lukewarm. The restaurant is beautiful, and... More

This was my first visit and it will not be my last. Now that I will be coming to DC at least once a month, Charlie Palmer will be my regular stop for dinner. The staff and food was excellent.

It took some work to find this restaurant because the exterior is a huge construction site. I finally went into the building next door and was directed to the restaurant through an unmarked doorway. It was worth the hassle; excellent food, efficient but discreet service and a quiet enough environment to conduct business uninterrupted. Definitely worth a visit.

I only had lunch here, so my review is based purely on my lunch experience. Overall, the restaurant is very very good, and is an excellent choice for lunch. Their lunch menu includes a fixed price option, which gives you three courses for $25. The food is nicely done. Service is fast and courteous, and not obsequious. If you prefer... More

If your in Washington and need a convenient place to have a meeting go to Charlie Palmer Steak. The wait staff are seasoned as expected and serve visitors immediately. The atmosphere is what your really paying to experience because the food is not great. The steak is tender, and good but available at many D.C. restaurants. The client I was... More

Ambiance is ok ....food was average nothing amazing about it. I like their small bar in the front and has a great view. Not a five star restaurant in my opinion.

Elegant atmosphere, non-intrusive service and sumptuous steaks. Allow the very knowledgeable wine captain to choose your wine and you won't be disappointed. Be sure to check out the "connected" ladies' and men's rooms.
