Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol. Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.

Good quality food

The atmosphere was very cozy, the food quality was good but the variety was not so much yet they have good kid's menu . It's a classic modern American food restaurant. The food was tasty as well.

After a day of traveling, we were looking for someone close to our hotel and not expensive. The food is decent, prices are affordable, and the beer selection is so-so. Service was good and food came out quickly.

Brewing Co. restaurants tend to not be family friendly but this one is. Large space. Menu offers choices for everyone. Another good burger from here. They only have their own beers on tap. Four standard runs and four or five seasonal beers. Happy hour will treat you with $3.50 pints.

Stayed at the Embassy Suites this was two blocks away. Typical sports bar atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed their fare, food was served quickly and we walked from here to the White house

Open for lunch and dinner. Wait times of 30 minutes or more during rush hours. Apple pie alamode was a favorite.

The brewery had a mixture of clientele from office people to couples to families. All treated well. The food is better than most breweries and the choice of brews was varied. Although one is cautioned that if one goes in the late evening, most of the specialty beers are gone.

I ate here twice because of their location during my 3 day stay in DC. The first time I went there, it was busy with the after work crowd and dinner rush. I wanted to place an order to take out. I went to the bar and they were busy and eventually I was acknowledged. I placed my order and... More

Could not figure out why this place was so crowded. Even the beer was disappointing to me. Over rated bar fare, I would not go back nor recommend.
