Description: Capitol City Brewing Co. opened its doors in 1992 as the first brew pub in our nation's capitol since prohibition, thus giving its citizens and its many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest hand-crafted beer in the country. On the front of our menu is the symbol of freedom, the Lady Liberty, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol. Nestled in the heart of Washington's rejuvenated downtown, this location has become a local landmark for celebrating great beer and food with family and friends. We have always taken great pride in our beer so come in and enjoy a cold pint of our very best and match it to one of the many menu selections tailored to the brews we serve.

We had a long day of travelling and found this place right across the street from our hotel. We always check trip advisor for reviews and it looked ok. I would agree with most of the reviews only for the service we received from our waiter. The hostess was lovely and showed us to a table. The drinks and food... More

Fried Calamari was small and was probably microwaved from a bag. Ahi Tuna from the salad was cold and probably pre-cooked. Waitress was unattentive and rude. Ate on 14 DEC at 9PM.

Had a work party for 48 and had only 2 servers and 1 bartender. We were there 3 hours for dinner which made us late for our trolley tour. Food was good but how you only have 2 servers when you knew you had a large party?

First of all, the beers were amazing. We really enjoyed the wide selection and there were many choices for each pallet type. The food wasn't bad either. It is what you would expect from a pub type restaurant. Can get pretty crowded and space at the bar is at a premium.

We chose the brewery as it was within walking distance from our hotel. My husband and I both enjoyed our dinner, fish & chips and ribs. They were fairly busy, but we didn't wait long for our food.

Had an evening meal with my family, we all had different options from the menu, which ranged from the kids burger to a flat iron steak. All of us enjoyed what we had ordered and were full up by the end. They also have a great selection of beer on offer so worth visits if you just need a pint.... More

The place is awesome however a few things need to be worked on which is making the place accessible with regard to the 2nd. floor private room. One of my friends is in a wheel chair. In lieu of this the staff were great in helping out and bring us around the building into the emergency backdoor. As for the... More

The bar area was crowded - which was expected on a Saturday night. Our 30 minute wait was in reality 15 minutes, Friendly service, good selection of food that was better than expected - I was expecting "plain" I got "great" food. Good beer selection. And it was kid / family friendly

Our 2nd time here & everything was as good as we remembered. My husband tried the sampler beers - it had the largest tasting glasses I have ever seen in a sampler & the brews were very good. We had the Crab Dip appetizer & Crab Cakes - all very good. The address is on New York, but the entrance... More
