Best baked goods in D.C.

WOW. MUST STOP. If you want something baked, this is the place. Amazing variety of treats, biscotti, bars, cupcakes, ice cream sandwiches, cookies...all grab and go. Best cupcake I've had in a long time, tried the chocolate hazelnut biscotti and it was excellent. Definitely worth the wait in... read more

Although the food and drinks are good, I don't see any good reason why people are waiting in line for half an hour or more...

I was not going to fool myself: best coffee in town? My prejudice about Americans is that they throw a single coffee bean in a glass of hot water and call it coffee. Baked & Wirde is paradise for those European coffee addicts like me. And while you're there anyway, try the fabulous pastry! So if you are of to... More

I've had their cupcakes a few times, and they're amazing. Great frosting to cake ratio (not too much frosting) and innovative flavors. They're moist and on the dense side, but still fluffy. All the other cupcakeries are fine, but Baked & Wired wins for the flavors and the cupcakes themselves. Plus, they're enormous. The assortment of other baked goods is... More

They have great natural cup cakes and cookies, and you will get a few to go! The staff is excellent in helping the first timers select a great coffee or tea to go along with your dessert.

Actually this one is in Penn Quarter and is a total gem. The baked goods are terrific and so are all the entrees. Free internet and no push to make you leave make this a great stopping place if you're coming from the station or China town. It's on 5th and K

The coffee is smooth and the cupcakes fabulous! I am usually a chocolate lover and really liked their chocolate cupcakes but they were second to the strawberry and lemon-blueberry cupcakes.

I had such high expectations for the cupcakes since everyone was raving about them. I went to Baked and Wired, which cupcakes were average. First, it was very crowded, as in, we couldn't all fit inside the cupcakery. The cupcake was bout 90% cake and 10% icing. And the icing was by far the best part. The cake part felt... More

I guess everyone has their favorite cupcake joint in Georgetown (mine is the PB Chip at Sprinkles). For me, the cupcakes were just okay- but what I loved was the Monster Cookie (amazing flourless with M&Ms, Oatmeal, PB and god knows what else) as well as the Apricot crunch bar. They were fantastic! Nice place to pick up some takeaway... More
