Just like a Parisian bistro

Bistrot Du Coin is not the place to go if you're looking for a quiet, romantic meal. The restaurant is huge and quite noisy, but the food is good. I have eaten here many, many times since it opened many years ago and it is like an old friend who unfortunately has gotten a bit too comfortable in its old self. I ate lunch here on a quiet weekday and the place was almost empty (though lots of folks out of town right now.) I ordered the roast chicken... More

Love, love, love BDC - have been many times - today was the first time for breakfast. BDC is like an old friend where you pick up where you left off and then find out something new. Today, the new was breakfast - I had gorgeous bacon and eggs with a small salad and frites - and a spectacular view... More

I was here two days in a row having dinner. Liked the place a lot. Food is excellent, the place is like a restaurant-bar-disco. Very nice place. I had mussels and were fantastic. Highly recomended.

I really-really wanted to like the place because the Bistro came recommended by a dear friend who is a regular visitor. The problem was that the food was waaaayyy too rich: mussels were swimming in butter. One can say that French cuisine is defined by the love to butter but I just came from Normandy and my stomach&liver had no... More

This place is buzzing. Great atmosphere and great food. Rustic French decor in a bar style setting. Extensive menu and the prices were reasonable. Staff were attentive even though the restaurants was really busy. Definitely worth a visit .

Great choice for French bistro food if you don't want to wait two hours at Le Diplomate. Can be a little pricey, but the food is great in a fun, boisterous setting. Stick the the classics: steak tartare, escargot, and steak frites.

My second time here. This is a quintessential French bistro. Give in to all the wonderfulness: steamed mussels, steak frites, escargot, frois gras, all excellently prepared in a slightly cramped, slightly loud, never rushed atmosphere - just like it should be. I will always return when in DC. One of my favorites - simple, friendly and delicious.

After a friends recommendation, my partner and I arrived at Bistrot du coin ready for a pretty good meal. And it did not disappoint. It was very busy so service wasn't as quick as some places but it was fine for us. Usually we would both go for steak but for some reason on this occasion neither of us did!... More

Had the steak with bernaise sauce with french fries, glass of wine, poached pear with ice cream. It was good but nothing remarkable. For the price (very high), I was not impressed. I would probably go back for lunch but would try elsewhere for dinner. (Casual dining with fries at fine dining prices.) Wine selection was poor. I ordered a... More
