Recommended by a family who lives nearby, this noisy authentic bistro was packed with happy locals and tourists. My wife's mussels were perfect. My coq au vin and side of green beans were delicious. Our French waiter was friendly and attentive.

We stopped for lunch on a Sunday. You could order both lunch and brunch dishes. The restaurant was full and lively but we still got a table with little wait. The service was prompt and attentive but not over bearing. We all had the steak and frites. The steak was delicious - seasoned and cooked perfectly. The fries were also... More

This is one of my favorite spots in DC. A great french bistro in the Dupont Circle area. I found the service to be good and the staff generally friendly. I have eaten here a number of times and always enjoyed it. They are open late, weekdays the kitchen is one until midnight, although they have a limited menu after... More

Our first night in DC, but rather tired from an unanticipated slog of a drive up from Virginia. The house manager at our hotel recommended Bistrot Du Coin. We had the mussels mariniere--a nice portion, well flavored and cooked--would have loved some grilled bread crisps to dunk but had to use the whole wheat slices. My wife's nicoise salad was... More

We dropped in and the first thing that hit me was the smell. It smelled like a toilet. The vaitress was not attentive and in no way interested in doing a good job. The food was bad tasting and overpriced.

On a short vacation to DC and stopped in late on a Friday night. Seated immediately in a cute, noisy, cramped area. Waiter came with small glasses of water, the menus and no interaction. We order two buckets of mussels(one with thai sauce and one with more traditional wine and herbs)which were perfectly cooked, and a rabbit stew. Food was... More

My wife and I went to Bistrot du Coin hoping for a good quality French style meal. My starter of fois gras was quite pleasant, if a little startling served with a brown goo sauce. The main, was most forgettable the duck leg, in similar sauce, was served with over spiced potatoes. Not at all appetising and definitely not French!... More

I have been coming to this Bistrot for over 10 years. It can be loud and the service, a bit brusque at times (after all, many of the waitstaff are actually French). They reliably produce a solid menu of French classics that never disappoints. I especially love the mussels, which are some of the best I've ever had anywhere in... More

This Bistro is what is advertises to be, a French Bistro. Typical food I enjoyed the mussels but they were not extraordinary. If I was in the area I might try another restaurant.
