Very good and fun live music by a very lovely lady!

My family and I had dinner hear one evening after a long day of sightseeing. I haven't had German food in awhile and was eager to dive in! I ordered the traditional Wiener Schnitzel with red cabbage and a potato pancake (very traditional plate) and though the veal was a bit on the tough side when... read more

My family and I know German food -- and the Cafe Mozart's simply is not up to snuff. Our recent lunch party of three ordered the sauerbraten, the pork loin and the sausage platter. Respectively, our meat was tough, tough and gamey. The tasteless potato salad side dish was not worth the extra price. Even the potato pancake which accompanied... More

My daughter, granddaughter and I planned our trip to Cafe Mozart before we left on our trip to DC. You enter into a store/deli. Abundant with German offerings. We were greeted by a lovely German woman who seated and served us. The atmosphere is comfortable and lovely. We scanned the plethora of offerings on the menu. We decided on the... More

We ate here last week and were very disappointed. It seemed like it took forever to get served despite the fact that it was not that crowded The food was so/so. We used a certificate that we purchased ahead of time and it gave us $$ off of our total. When I presented it to the server, she snapped back... More

Great for lunch. Arrive around 1145 if you don't have a reservation because it fills up quickly. Welcome vegetarian twists on German-Austrian classics. I had the mushroom snitzel (a giant portobello) with five types of salads: tomato/onion, three bean, carrot raisin, cucumber/dill cream and a vinegar-based slaw. My friend had the vegetable patty plate: a veggie patty, potato pancake and... More

This little restaurant is tucked in a surprising block. When you enter, you are in the deli. Make your way past the selves of convenience food items to get huge helpings of wonderful German food at more than reasonable prices. I had the mushroom schnitzel plate, which included servings of 6 cold salads. It was wonderful

We heard about this place on restaurant.com. We read the reviews and decided to give it a try. We were in Washington DC for three days celebrating our anniversary. We decided to go to this restaurant for one of our anniversary dinners. The atmosphere is quite unique and very cozy. We love the accordion player she was terrific. The service... More

Looks like a shop from the outside but behind is a restaurant, we would have missed this if we hadn't been taken there by friends who eaten there previously. Not sure the accordian music would have been my first choice but it did grow on me. We had an enjoyable night and enjoyed the food and good service.

JMJ As you enter the front store area, keep working your way back to the restaurant behind the double door. Such a wonderful area and first class service and food. Our server was patient with my confused order. She set me straight and we laughed about it later. Our food was delicious and very ample! Will definitely return here again... More

More German than Germany! I have often noticed that expatriates can become to embody more of a culture than their motherland itself—the Japanese in Hawaii, the Canadians in Victoria British Columbia and now this experience comes to mind. The recipes here are more German that anything I had in Germany, and are clearly reflective of a time and place—someone’s grandmothers... More
