I love this little restaurant, which is behind the storefront deli. The food is not the "best" German food I have relished, but it is tasty. The bar is a fun spot for good beer and on some evenings there is German entertainment. This is an old-world style authentic restaurant and I wouldn't change a thing. Bartender is fantastic.

This little cafe was such a lucky find for us! My partner and I just happened to be walking by, and saw their sign, and are so glad we did! This café's German food is delicious! I had the Grilled Blackforest Sandwich and my partner had the Bratwurst with potato salad, both of which were excellent. The wait staff was... More

My son and I recently stopped in for a late lunch. The restaurant is located behind a deli, reached by traversing a short dimly lit passageway lined with German food delicacies. Our server, Alina, was very friendly and accommodating. My son ordered the viennese schnitzel with spaetzli, German potato salad; I ordered sauerbraten with spaetzli and red cabbage. All of... More

After 4 month in the U.S. my first German food. It was great to eat a Schnitzel and drink a Paulaner (German beer). The Austrian musician did a good job. But the music is for elder people. They have also German groceries in their shop.

I love this place, with the German market at the entrance and a very traditional restaurant in the back. Food hasn't amazed me, I feel it is tired but I love the ambiance and service is always friendly and accommodating. I feel like going into a different place and time when I go there.

There is a reason why this restaurant has survived for nearly 35 years! It's a great food escape in the fast food jungle of the usual American life. Here, one can have fine coffee and quiet atmosphere -- with amazing deli-meats or sausage. It's simply a delight whether one is in DC or Vienna -- it's simply splendid to be... More

I went here after work and could not believe what was at the end of the mini market! The food was great and the selection of drinks a true testament to their German credentials. If the variety and uniforms weren't enough to to transport you to Germany then the accordion playing musician will definite seal the deal. From what I've... More

What a wonderful little café here in our nation's Capitol. Great beer and food at a reasonable price. Super service!
