Unique, wonderful Low Country cuisine - a very special restaurant

Vidalia is one of Washington's very best restaurants. The Low Country (the Carolina coast) dishes are not available anywhere else in Washington. We have dined there many times and recommend (among others) the sweetbreads and waffle, the foie gras and the squid ink pasta appetizers. For entrees... read more

This place was so unexpected. Fantastic food and great service. We went here for our anniversary and were blown away by the food. The interior of the restaurant was reminiscent of a formal restaurant in New Orleans. White tablecloths and full set tables, that is teetering on the boundary of nearly outdated. The place was snug and tucked away in... More

I recently attended a group business lunch at Vidalia after eating there many years previously. I had a very good experience. The food was quite excellent as I had recalled from the prior visit. I had an apple and pear with blue cheese and pomegranate seed appetizer, shrimp and grits main course, and lemon chess pie desert. The latter two... More

Upscale southern influenced food in a nice environment. Service was exceptional and the food amazing. Corn and cheese breads both to die for. Foie gras was exceptional. Ended with shrimp and grits I love America esp DC

Met a customer for a business review here. We arrived at 6 PM before the crowd on a Wednesday night. I understand this place gets busy on the weekends. The food was excellent. I had the pork chop which was a very thick cut and perfectly cut. Others had the venison, and the duck. We shared a few appetizers which... More

We visited Vidalia late on a Friday night for a small dinner. The restaurant is nice and clean and creates a nice atmosphere for spending time with a loved one or a group of friends. Service is good. The food was good too. We found the menu to be a tad small, but if you enjoy sashimi and the like,... More

I can't imagine a trip to DC without visiting Vidalia. The setting is lovely, and you will soon forget you are in an underground space. Food and service were both top notch, especially the waiter who recognized us from a previous visit and remembered that we were both drooling over and raving about their Grillades & Grits.

The food is upscale Southern and is fantastic. The service is excellent, seems there is someone by your side every minute. This is not an inexpensive dinner, plan on $100/pp, but it is an excellent dining experience. Mike, however, is not to be missed. He loves food and drink and loves to share his expertise. Ask him to bring over... More

We dined at Vidalia on a spur of the moment since we were downtown with the kids (11 and 8). Not really knowing what to expect, we called (around 6pm on a Saturday) to see if there were any tables available and they welcomed us warmly. My kids are no strangers to dining out but we don't usually take them... More

We were a group of 12 or 15, so we had a private room with several choices of appetizers, entrees and desserts. The low country she-crab soup was spectacular and very rich. The portion was small but it was so rich you didn't need more than what was beautifully served. The salmon was also tasty and served with beautifully cooked... More
