Was in DC two weeks ago and had dinner at Jaleo. We had reservations and we're immediately sat, however we were sat too close to the kitchen door I asked if we can be seated elsewhere, my wife and I took the initiative and sat in the bar area where we actually had more privacy. Our waiter and bar staff... More

Excellent tapas and other Spanish food. Modern decor; lots of glass. Has a bar and seating is a little crowded.

Visiting from the UK and met up with some American friends who suggested this place. The food and service was excellent and we would visit again.

Owned by Jose Garces; this is one of his impressive restaurants sprinkled in the East. The Iron Chef does not disappoint. The decor is very pleasing. We were traveling with a group from China who enjoy trying tastes of different foods. We selected the Jaleo Experience for $70 per person. The server assured us we would be very full at... More

Outstanding experience sitting at the bar at Jaleo. The noise level was reasonable, and the food/wine were outstanding. You have to try the "liquid olives", a la Ferran Adria's old restaurant, El Bulli. A gelatinous "shell" around freshly squeezed olive oil with orange zest on top. Explosive flavors, all together. Good wines by the glass, and a knowledgable wait staff... More

I always eat here when I'm in DC. They have remarkably good tapas that they bring out in wonderful colors and designs, but the flavors are complex, with interesting combinations and delightful surprises. I had the shrimp in garlic sauce that was out of this world with fresh bread, anchovies with some veggie on bread, grilled eggplant and red peppers with... More

We stopped for dinner on a Sunday night around 9:00pm. They were rushing already to go home. The food didn't impressed us. It was brought to us right away. I'm assuming everything there is already prepared. We asked for a dessert menu and they said the kitchen was already closed. What kind of business is this? Won't go back there... More

Took another reviewers recommendation to have the tasting experience. GREAT recommendation! Before I noticed there was a drink paring I was already off to a start so I made my way through the drink menu with the bartender. Another WOW. Next time I would add the drink tasting to the food tasting and let the show begin!!! Bartender made drink... More

We've been to Jaleo several years ago. Since then, there has been a major remodel. Before it seemed dark and loud. Now, with window in place of walls, and a change in furniture, it seems more informal, more family oriented, less noisy and echoing. You have to like it that way or not. As for the food, the same great... More

There 8 people in our party. That enabled us to try lots of different things. Everything was delicious. Some of the tables are glass covered foosball tables. I highly recommend.
