Reliable standard

Jaleo is an reliable standard for tapas in DC. The plates are creative, always tasty and fun to share with a group. We have also eaten at the sister location in Bethesda, which was also very good. Great place for lunch or dinner.

Busy, lively, great food. If you are new to tapas, go here first. Food is fun and creative and very tasty. Order 2 to 3 plates each to share so everyone gets to try a variety. This is also a grwat place if you have a mixed group of vegetarians and meat eaters. The menu is varied enough to accomodate... More

When you walk into Jaleo, you are greeted by a vibrant decor. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The food was AMAZING. After living in Spain, i would say this food was very authentic. The flavors were great, as well as the presentation. One of the best Spanish Dishes I have had, even better than ones In Spain!

One of the best examples of the creative cooking of Jose Andre. Small tapa plates, all creative and delicious. Perfect for sharing. And the drinks aren't bad either. Great for a fun evening out.

We have enjoyed Jaleo in DC and its sister in Bethesda for years. It not only keeps up its high standards, but seems to keep getting even better. It is as close to eating fine tapas in Spain as you can get without flying there - with some creativity thrown in. It is always busy and the service is always... More

Have eaten at Jaleo many times and have always found the food superb ... the wine pretty good ('tho on the pricey side) and the wait staff friendly and professional. (Then again, a restaurant owned & operated by renowned chef Jose Andres should be top notch.) Our one 'negative' is that we're not at all fans of the 'make-over' that... More

Food is served here tapas style. Some dishes are large enough for a small eater. The Calamari seared on the 'plancha' with traditional squid ink and white rice ($11) was enough as a lunch dish for my daughter. Ordering many dishes can get pricey. The Basque cake with semolina cream, cinnamon-vanilla sauce and ice milk was to die for!! Service... More

Jose Andres restaurant which rivals its Las Vegas counterpart. Love the sangria and the tapas dishes which are perfect for two persons. Each bite is a savory flavor and discovery! And a great location!

met a friend for dinner here and was so glad she suggested this location. It's a fun a bright environment so you don't want to choose this if you want a quiet intimate dinner, this is more of a fun and lively spot. The menu is extensive but we arrived during restaurant week so we were able to narrow our... More

Visited with friends after another DC establishment. The place was busy, which is a great sign, and the staff was knowledgeable and attentive. The food, extraordinary!
