We dined there and we enjoyed it very much. The food is well prepared and delicious. The price is reasonable too. We enjoyed sitting outside in the terrace as the weather was cool and nice. The waiters are friendly and helpful

Lunch specials were excellent and the price right. Great way to get away for both a business lunch or social gathering.

I had dinner here near Dupont Circle, and sat outdoors on the terrace. I ordered bruschetta (I only asked for the tomato bruschetta) and a caprese salad (mozzarella and tomato) and they both were fresh, presented well and just like in Italy. My father got the carbonara pasta, almost like in Italy except it had a little cream which is... More

One of the worse meals we have ever had - waiter was even worse than the meal. There was so much oil in the bowl from the sauce you could have floated a boat. Tasteless sauce - dry overcooked fish - mushy pasta. Glad the portion was so small as I could not have eaten much more of it. With... More

This café, near Dupont Circle, serves reliable Italian food and offers a decent by the glass wine list. Insalata Caprese is a good starter, and the pasta dishes with seafood are a solid choice.

I was in Washington, DC for 4 days, the first night four of us went out for an Italian meal. La Tomate is right on Connecticut, everything about it seems to indicate that is a tourist place only. However, we were ready for a meal having been on a 5 hour flight. I took a chance and went with the... More

Visited La Tomate last night with my husband and two teens. The location is very mice and the corner terrace was fantastic. They have a nice bar with plama TV's, yet too close to the restaurant area. If you want a cozy, romantic spot, choose a corner table. The food was good, that's it. Portions are very small. They have... More

Lunch at 3:00 can be a bit of a challenge but La Tomate was the perfect solution. Knowing we were having a big dinner, my husband and I were looking for a bite to hold us over. We snacked on Iberico Procsiutto and Cesare Salad...delicious and perfect.

I sure hope the owners here read these reviews and act on the repeated service related poor reviews. We parked on the street near the outside entrance and an unfriendly woman employee standing there barely acknowledged us when we asked if we should enter there for outside seating. When we ordered our drinks we also asked for water which we... More

My wife and I had dinner here on Sat, evening. We ate inside but there was outside seating. THe food was fairly authentic and very good. We both had pasta and the octopus appey, All was very good at a fair price. We will return on our next trip.
