quiet, elegant, one of the best

I bring my out-of-town guests to Corduroy when they appreciate good food and I really want to hear what they have to say; the noise level is among the best of Washington's fine restaurants. The service is impeccable and I have never had a bad meal there in, oh, nine years? Best items, day to day... read more

Great, great restaurant! Superlative service. Although the menu may seem limited, the kitchen absolutely knocks it out the park. And, I really love the wine list. A bit pricey, but they have some really unique bottles and the wine I had was great.

Just to be clear, this is not the best restaurants I have been to but we had the tasting menu for USD 70 which is a very good price for that menu. They served among other courses great tuna tartars and great scallops. Service is very attentive and the restaurant is spacious and you are not disturbed by others guest.... More

Wonderful dinner. We did the 5 course tasting menu, it was delicious. Amuse Bouche was a fish soup, then a wonderful tuna tartare app with mountain potatoes (we'd never heard of, really great crunch). Then we had a seared snapper over sushi rice, again beautifully done. Then a wonderful duck confit (my wife doesn't usually like duck but she did... More

We just love this restaurant and had our wedding rehearsal dinner here 7 years ago...it is still just as wonderful. I chose the soup and scallops...both were excellent and Chef sent out baby asparagus as a complimentary starter that was delicious. Excellent wine list and outstanding service. It's wonderful to dine and to be able to hear the conversation.

A restaurant where you can actually have a conversation. This is an elegant restaurant with excellent service. The food is excellent, the wine is excellent, however it is expensive.

We made reservations for 8pm for me, hubby & daughter who is 8. We were seated immediately, and given ample time to make our choices. Beef loin strip, lamb and then seared tuna. They were all just cooked to perfection. The whole experience was wonderful. We went casually dressed with jeans, decent shirts and didn't feel out of place, everyone... More

My colleague selected the location as the location for his farewell dinner. For this kind of price and the experience we were looking for there are so many other better options in the Nation's Capital. We were on an expense account, I wouldn't return to spend my own money. Nothing really excited any of us. If your looking for a... More

I was going with my group of professional colleagues for a somewhat social-somewhat business discussion. I had no idea what to expect but did look this up on Trip Adviser and saw it was ranked #4 in Washington DC. The seating was very comfortable and despite being busy, the noise level was reasonable. In other words you could have a... More

Our first visit to Corduroy in Washington DC. What a find..WOW!..every aspect was exceptional..service was professional and personable with precise, knowledgeable and passionate descriptions of menu items and specials. Food was just extraordinary. Ambience was classy, perfect for couples or small groups to enjoy a remarkable dining experience. Reservations a must..Dress is business casual or better..it would be inappropriate to... More
