Impeccable service (thank you Youness and the other servers that were always nearby, and perfect atmosphere with tables far apart. But of course, best was the food. Portions were perfect, and each course was a thoughtful combination of tastes and textures. Food was cooked perfectly. Nice list of wines by the glass. Worth it for a special evening

Outstanding service, and very attentive captain and waiter service. I would not expect different in this kind of setting. The menu was a combination of traditional French with contemporary options. The tasting menu was very well presented, and they allow options from same section of tasting, allowing for more of the same type. Foie Gras was a little over cooked,... More

Just had an amazing dinner at Marcel's tonight. We chose the four course meal which was plenty for my wife and I. The portions were just right. Between the two of us we had six different selections and two desserts. Presentation was beautiful. The sea bass and ratatouille, boudin blanc, shrimp salad, filet, lamb chops were all excellent. The special... More

Perhaps my palette isn't as refined as the reviewer before me, who thought that dining at Marcel's was overrated. I couldn't disagree with them more! I found my dining experience at Marcel's to be simply sublime. I was meeting an old friend for dinner, who had to cancel at the last minute. Even though I do not relish the idea... More

Having done our research my friends and I were looking forward to enjoying tripadviasor's nb one restaurant in DC. Dishes on the tasting menu looked promising. Wine list however had a few high end classics but lacked true substance when it comes to a good and diverse list. Actually quite disappointing and we were very happy to have brought our... More

I came here for my 30th birthday with my Dad (he paid). I was blown away by the food. I had 7 courses. It was definitely expensive, but very worth it for a special occasion. My only complaint would be that the courses take a long time to come out, so there is a lot of down time.

4 courses was plenty for us two big men but we are Australian and don't regularly down huge American sized meals. The food was superb, imaginative and beautifully presented. Our waiter was attentive and very helpful. Excellent wine list. Ambience superb. Lived up to the other Trip Adviser reviews without question.

A recent reviewer opined that Marcel's was the finest restaurants in the country - we concur!! The quality and unique preparation and favors of the food are simply superb. Our waiter Jonathan was one of the best anywhere. If you are visiting Washington, don't miss this place; it truly is a special experience.

My wife and I had been to Marcel's four or five times previously and always loved it, but somehow we weren't prepared to be as blown away as we were this time. The only experiences that I can recall being as exceptional as this were at The Inn at Little Washington and Gary Danko in San Francisco. Every element of... More
