We spent our anniversary here. Best service and menu. They gave us a signed copy of the anniversary menu. Also, this is not your normal tasting menu, you can select the number of courses you would like from any category on the menu. The food is phenomenal as well. I just can't rave enough about this place.

The prices listed TripAdvisor seem a little out of date as dinner will set you back a minimum of $100 but it is well worth it if you like fine dining. It attracts a well dressed crowd so don't arrive in jeans like I did or you will probably feel a little out of place! They have a tasting menu... More

We enjoyed our dinner here--the food was amazing. Everything was delicious. We liked the menu set up where you could choose anywhere from a 4-course meal to a 7-course meal--we opted for the 4-course, therefore we were able to select any 4 dishes we would like. For example if you are not a salad and dessert type of person, you... More

First I will dispense with the elements that caused the “little quirky” impression. First is the décor, which is “classic” – think thick patterned carpet, gilded mirrors and heavy drapery - and does not appear to have been updated since the restaurant’s debut in 1999. This is not necessarily incompatible with the overall ambiance, but the musty setting was striking.... More

The most amazing food! Plan on spending $100 to $150 per person without drinks. I had three course and all of them where amazing. I don't think you can order anything bad here. You should dress up for this place. If not they will sit you in the front where it is less formal.

Went to Marcel's for dinner before seeing the Lion King at the Kennedy Center. The pre-theater menu had several choices other then just steak or chicken. The presentation and food were excellent! The atmosphere was nice and staff was friendly, starting from the opening of the door till the end of the meal. Marcel's even provided transportation to the Kennedy... More

Catching up on my reviews; the fact that i remember the details is a testament to the great dinner and service experience we had here in October 2013 during the government shutdown. Pre-theater prefix dinner was outstanding especially the Norwegian salmon with truffle sauce. The complimentary limo shuttle service to the Kennedy Center was especially appreciated.

This has been my favorite restaurant in DC for years. I don't get to go very often, but always a memorable experience when I do. Came here to celebrate my anniversary and birthday since the occasions are only two days apart. Can never say enough about the food that is prepared. Outstanding food and exquisite presentation. That along with Jonathan... More

Marcel's chef prepares top notch cuisine but the rest is unfortunately not at par: the room is completely outdated and the atmosphere depressing, the service is unprofessional being mostly concerned by how much you will end up ordering (asking if you want more wine every 5 mns..) and leaving on the table (this is probably called incentives, but not necessarily... Marcel's is an elegant restaurant with an impressive menu and top notch service. They did an excellent job helping us choose the right wine to accompany several different dishes. The place is among the best in DC and I recommend it for business dinners and special occasions.
