European style restaurant, great place to be in and relaxed atmosphere was there as a part of a big group but the level of service was great. The full 3 course menu was brilliant and not like in so many restaurants when they serve half a beast, just perfect.

From beginning to end this was a top of the line restaurant. The staff worked together like a well oiled machine. They did not need to say what was needed, each and everyone of the employees stepped in a took charge (in a subtle way). They were so very helpful when we asked what they preferred. Their suggestions on both... More

We go out to dinner often and have lived in DC for over 30 years. Marcel's was a disappointment. As a tasting menu, the menu had a choice of 4, 5, 6, or 7 courses all of which were very rich/heavy with variety only among the fish and meats. Eating this many courses one would expect some lighter entries. There... More

It was such a pleasure to dine at Marcel's this past weekend. From start to finish, the service and food was one of the best dining experiences. Each interaction in the restaurant was professional and special. The food was superb with excellent presentation. It was refreshing to see good customer service and delicious food from start to finish. Jonathon was... More

Went for a special occasion and we had a wonderful 7-course meal. All was great except for the cheese course- I would suggest skipping it unless they have a cheese you absolutely love. From the lobster ravioli, boudin sausage, bison, elk sausage, mahi mahi, Dover sole, steak, to the desserts, all was fabulous. The bread is good, and you need... More

We saved our visit to Marcels for our last night in DC because of all the positive reviews on Trip Advisor. We were there on a Wednesday night just before July 4th and the place was empty. The hostess that greeted us was very nice and accomodating as well as the waiters. We had a cocktail to start which was... More

After attempting to get a reservation four or five times (on a Friday or Saturday night), I was able to get one for last evening. (nothing like DC summers to clear the city out) And, the place was pretty empty, so if you have been attempting to get in, now might be the time. It was a pre-theatre dinner, and... More

On rare occasion we jump into a restaurant like this hoping for a very unique dining experience at a rather high price. From the weight staff down to the dessert at the end....we were not disappointed. The menu made it quite clear that our choices were going to be unique and artistically done. This experience was not at the top... More

We went for our anniversary after asking the hotel concierge for a fancy French restaurant. The food, service, and ambience were outstanding in every way. The waiter was consistently attentive and helpful. The menu is somewhat unusual, but ultimately fascinating. Very expensive, but worth it.

We have been dining at Marcel's for years, and have greatly enjoyed each visit. We had missed them, the previous two trips to DC, so made sure to include them on this one. The venue is lovely, understated and elegant. The service is usually one of the best aspects, but things just seemed to go a bit wrong on this... More
