surprisingly delicious and great service

I was recently in Washington DC for a conference immediately after the blizzard. DC, unlike Chicago, DC is unaccustomed to mounds of snow. While the streets were clear, the sidewalks were not, jumping into a cab the initial "blizzard fee" was $18~just at the start. Having gone only two blocks... read more

Our flight was cancelled during DC Blizzard and we were stuck in hotel .. Walked down the street but only a ghost town. Lights were on and a band of brothers were shoveling snow at Al Tiramisu and amazingly these guys invited us in an not only fed us an awesome dinner but great entertainment between the waiters. Every negative... More

I made a mistake on Open Table and booked for Sunday night instead of Saturday. In spite of being completely full, they seated us immediately and we had a wonderful dinner. The 3 of us all had pasta dishes with lobster from their daily specials menu. The regular menu is not overwhelming with selections but they 5 or 6 dishes not... More

This is a great little spot in D.C. This is my second time here and they always astound me. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is "old fashioned " and quaint, but don't let that keep you from going. The place is clean and simply warm. The meals are as good as you would find in Italy with... More

This was a surprise visit. We had planned a different eatery, but could not find a parking place and this one had valet, AND an available table. This is a very high end restaurant. The bread was fantastic, served with a capers/anchovies/olive spread was a delight I will not soon forget. The meals we enjoyed were all beautifully presented and... More

We looked forward to dining here because of the high Zagat rating, but were somewhat disappointed. Not that the food was bad, but it wasn't very exciting either. The lobster bisque, which was the soup of the day, was salty and had little squares of a meat-like substance instead of lobster in it. When I asked the waiter, he admitted... More

We were up at DuPont Circle for an event and felt like looking for a new spot for us. Long time DC residents who just had not been in this neighborhood for awhile. Took a flyer on this place. What a treat. Cozy spot. Exceptional staff who did a great job of presenting the options without hype. Two apps which... More

Great food presentation, room ambiance, and wait staff. The cost of the food was not commensurate with the food quality.

This was our first visit to Al Tiramisu, but it instantly became one of my wife's favorite restaurants in DC so we're likely to be back every visit. The food was very good, but it was the service that made our experience here "as good as it gets." My wife usually leaves the restaurant choices to me, but one night... More

All in all, authentic, yummy, friendly Italian. Best slow cooked beef ribs; flavor outstanding. Risottos terrific.
