Quaint French restaurant in Georgetown

Food at the restaurant was very good. What I did not understand is the bread that tasted like it was a day-old...very dry and crumbly. The cheese souffle was delicious as was the escargots. The liver and the soft shell crabs came with almost the same sauce......did not understand that. The... read more

This restaurant is very consistent. With warm ambiance, great service and very good food, it is a place to have a good lunch or cozy home-like dinner.

I was there in May for a business dinner! The reservation its ok, the place its very nice, the food its awsome! But the service... They are rude, ask tou to order fast and a little bit anger! One man says at the end " Who wants cofee? Its the last call!" If they improve kindness and gentleness its gonna... More

This place is really good. They have a great staff. It's a little expensive but it's worth it, the food is great. Try their fish, very good.

The place is in a good spot and service was fine. Frankly the food was just barely average. We ordered a mix of daily specials and on menu items. Found the food to be overly rich, lacking subtle flavor. A few highlights included the soufflé and the house champagne. For the $$$, I would try other options.

La Chaumiere is a charming French bistro in Georgetown. Decor is warm and inviting with textured ceiling to limit sound. Small dining area but tables are far enough apart to avoid overhearing neighboring diners. Reservations are suggested even on a week night especially in the summer. Menu is written in French and English with a wide range of standard French... More

We took friends from LA to this wonderful French restaurant. While we had other delicious meals while in DC, this bistro was our favorite. Three of us had veal dishes (tender and flavorful) and the other had the cassoulet (meaty and delicious). The crispy potato chip garnish alone was worth the trip, proving that there is a great attention to... More

Onion soup ($9.50) lots of cheese. Had Duck breast ($25.00) which was very good and ample serving ordered glass of Zolo Malbec ($11.00) which I liked pre-ordered the grand mariner soufflé (20 minutes to prepare), let it cool a bit to get the full flavor. Real nice atmosphere. Crowd is the 1% mostly. Well dresses but one guy walked in... More
