Cozy restaurant -- easy to forget you're in the middle of the city. Tables are nicely spaced apart so you're not crowded. Service was excellent. Food was delicious.

Loud. The quennelles tough and overwhelmed by smoked lobster sauce. The calf's liver overwhelmed by the vinegar sauce. The orange souffle uninspiring.

If visitors come to Washington for its monuments, they'd be well-advised to seek out one noted for its historic hospitality and tastiness! For when it comes to eating where the neighbors are regulars and visitors return again and again, it is La Chaumiere in Georgetown. In what is arguably the chicest part of DC, Chaumiere offers the simplicity and hominess... More

Food and service were excellent. Great ambiance. Very good wine selection. Baked oysters are outstanding first course. Recommend venison and veal entrees.

Quenelles de Brochet is wonderful. Rack of Lamb is delicious and Grand Marnier soufflé divine. Wine list is impressive.

This must be one of the few places serving quenelles de brochet avec sauce nantua (albeit with lobster rather than crayfish sauce). Liked it so much that we went back next day. Wish I lived near it!!

We were a party of five for dinner on a Thursday night. The menu is filled with excellent choices and each was well prepared and presented. The salads, soups, fish and lamb were all perfect. The soufflé for desert was less impressive, but still tasty. But the service was appalling. I had to ask for a waiter to bring menus;... More

We liked the atmosphere and thought the food was great. However, the service was quite poor. Drinks, wine and dinner were all "dropped" on the table with little attention or care. At the end, we felt like they could not wait for us to leave (and we were pleased to accommodate). We had to wait a few days to get... More

We passed this restaurant the evening before and decided to have lunch here the next day. Great decision. The staff are friendly and know the menu well. Partner had the liver and onions and said it was excellent. I had the crab cakes and they were full of crab and scrumptious. They have a wonderful wine list with quite reasonable... More
