Quick service with efficient waiters, mid-priced, "Asian fusion" but primarily Thai. I eat here every two weeks - usually have Spicy Basil or Cilantro fried rice. Noodle dishes are also good. Curries are good - red is the most flavorful even though green is spicier (if you like very spicy I recommend ordering "red but extra spicy/hot") All the other... More

My wife and I had a tasty meal at the East Street Cafe. Itv was a good choice at Union Station. One can't say much for ambiance but you would not expect it in the setting. It was a bit difficult to navigate the menu, so we stuck to house specialties. I had the Manila pork barbeque and my spouse... More

Three of us were walking around Union Station when we happened across East Street Cafe. It was lunch time. We order mini egg rolls as an app which were small but tasty. We each order entrees - hind sight, we didn't each need to. The portions we huge. Everything ordered was freshly prepared and perfect. I had spicy basil chicken,... More

As a Korean, I thought something was rather odd when I saw a collection of Korean, Chinese, Thai, Japanese and Phillipino foods. It turns out that my gut feeling was right: this place isn't good at anything, perhaps except for Chinese foods (as it is run by a Chinese management). Pad Thai: bad. Calamari salad: even I could make this... More

There are many places to eat at Union Station, mostly food court and fast food. East Street is one of a few places where you can sit down at a table and be served by a waiter. The food is Asian, with lots of noodles and rice. I've eaten here a lot, and the food is usually good. Today was... More

Still loving East Street Cafe. My wife and I visited again and had yet another good meal. She stayed with her fav, curry tofu. I tried the chicken teriyaki--the sauce was more of a brown sauce and less like teriyaki, but still good.

My husband and I stopped in today for a late lunch. This was our first time to Union Station. We looked around and chose this restaurant on location - above everything! This is a train station and shopping center, so it is noisy - but a good place to wait for a train! We each ordered a glass of wine,... More

This restaurant serves food from all parts of the Asian community. From the name you couldn't guess the type of food. The service was okay nothing spectacular. We started of with fried calamari which look as if the oil hadn't been changed. It was okay. The Shrimp Tempura was so-so because the batter lost its crispness. The Cashew Nut Chicken... More

I think this is a Thai restaurant. My colleague who recommended it and dined with me said that it was a Thai restaurant. But it has an odd name for a Thai restaurant. The restaurant is on the mezzanine overlooking the terminal floor. Sterile would be a good description. The food choices are varied and appear to me to be... More

During our two day trip to DC our last stop was to visit Union Station. Of all the choices available East Street Cafe seemed to offer the best variety and a decent price. The menu offered a variety of some of our favorites. We choose the Gyoza and the Tempura appetizers. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Gyoza was... More
