I used to work around the corner from Capital Q for many years and I never had a good meal there. I tried it maybe 4 times in 4 years and just could not get anything to be tasty. The ribs were greasy, pork undercooked, tea oversteeped, it was always something. Not recommeneded.

A business associate took me to this place based on recommendations he'd heard (he'd never been either). I had the brisket sandwich and was surprised at both the amount of meat and the flavor. I think they could keep up with some of the Kansas City places I've enjoyed in the past. Anyway, it's a great place if your in... More

Stopped in here for a bite to eat before catching a movie. Found the place pretty easily due to the fact there is a BBQ going on the rooftop. I had the brisket burrito with the spicy sauce and roasted corn salsa. Really satisfying and reasonably priced. The brisket was done perfectly. Other members had the pulled pork platter, 1/2... More

This was my first visit to Capital Q. I went with 5 other business colleagues and we all agreed the food was really good. 2 of my companions were from Texas and they both agreed the BBQ quality was just as good at Capital Q as it was back in Texas. The biggest negative is the eating space is very... More

I've visited Capital Q several times in my DC travels and never been disappointed with the brisket. Servings are generous, sauce is good and the meat is very good. Not much seating and the sides are average, but since when does one do BBQ for the sides?

I am a south texas castaway. Been stuck up here in yankee land too long. But I have to disagree with some reviewers that do not think they serve real texas BBQ. I worked in DC far too long, but i loved taking time and going to Capital Q, the staff was friendly, and would make jokes on my waining... More

Having brisket on the menu and Texas decor does not make you an authentic Texas BBQ. In fact having a TX BBQ restaurant in downtown DC is an oxymoron. Real TX BBQ is slow roasted meat on open pit barbecues using hardwood or hardwood coals. Cooking brisket in an indoor box will never produce the same product. The brisket was... More

From the reviews, we were pretty excited about this place - but it is a tiny little room, with a few high tables, and counter service BBQ. The food was ok, but it is clearly set up for drinks before a sports event, not a meal with your family.

Tried the smoked turkey, which was dry without any distinct flavor, and not helped by the uninspired (mild) bbq sauce. The sides were mixed with decent mashed potatos, but I'm guessing the corn came from an economy sized can from Costco. Service and atmosphere were fine, but not enough to lure me back..

Went here in early October with a co-worker from Texas who was homesick for some good TX BBQ, while the decor is nice and sets the mood. The food falls short in both of our opinions. This was our second visit and we wanted to see if the first may have been a fluke but the sauce(s) which we'd tried... More
