Of all of our "native" food, barbecue is uniquely, authentically and gloriously All-American. Old Glory, located on historic M Street in Georgetown, captures the food, flavor and feel of the great barbecue restaurants of the United States, and offers representations of each styles of barbecue served in different parts of the country. "It looks like a rib joint, sounds like a rib joint and smells like one...most important, of course, the kitchen smokes fine barbecue," says the Washington Post. The huge barbecue pit, the open kitchen, and the 1901 Silver Dollar Four Winds hand-crafted bar, create lively, exciting atmosphere that is downright down-home.

Great bar

The terrace here is awesome probably my fave find in Georgetown. This is just a great bar to sit at and have a beer, don't get me wrong it's a plastic glass no frills type of venue, but the atmosphere and sun trap make it a winner.

This is burger/BBQ style restaurant on the main street in the centre of Georgetown. Went with a couple of friends for some dinner. When our food arrived my order was wrong which in itself is no problem at all, pork belly on top of the burger instead of cheese. Now this is a fix which takes no more than 60... More

After looking at the ratings for this restaurant we were not expecting anything out of the ordinary. We had a great meal here. Our waiter (I think an owner perhaps?) took the time to help me choose a beer, even offering samples to decide. As I am a BBQ affectionado, I asked a lot of questions on how the meats... More

We stumbled upon Old Glory while taking a walk in Georgetown. Each component of our meal was delicious. The sauces on the table added great flavours to the meat and the service was excellent. My only regret is that we did not see the patio until after finishing our meal. It was perfect weather for a great meal outdoors. We... More

We were staying in Georgetown for a few days and after a long day in Washington we were looking for an evening meal. We found the Old Glory and the menu looked good. We had to wait to be seated but only about 5 minutes a good choice of menu and generous portions. It was quite noisy in the main... More

Staff were attentive, which was nice, and the portions were pretty generous (based on not only my meal but others around me). The food was good without being great but over priced for what it was. Perhaps that's a location thing, but it wasn't impressive.

We were visiting DC for the weekend and choose this restaurant based on other reviews. It was great! We had a couple of beers, the ribs, brisket, the nachos, and wings!!! All the food was excellent but the Wings were out of this world! Do not miss these!!!!! The atmosphere was casual, and the waitstaff was helpful. It was busy,... More

After a day at the museums we wanted something quick and easy that the kids would enjoy as well. Mission accomplished. This place is smart, tons of bbq options plus a kid friendly menu that includes a meal, drink and dessert. I had the full rack of ribs, wife had the 1/2 chicken. Both were awsum and way too much...
