I had dinner here last night and was very disappointed. The food looked wonderful but was relatively tasteless. The salmon and the lamb were both undercooked. Although I asked for my lamb to be served medium rare... it was served very rare. The lamb was two tiny morsels which were more the size of tapas size than an entree. The... More

Excellent food. I have no idea about the pricing as it was a group meal in the private dining area. We had a 3 course menu. The portion size was perfect and dessert was to die for. I had the creme brule which was fabulous!

This is a review of the Christmas Eve service - which offered a fixed price menu (with an optional wine-pairing), their usual dinner service may be different. First off, I want to complement the restaurant on the design of its dinning rooms. They are very elegant looking with unique art work. The kitchen staff was very good, the dishes were... More

This is an elegant restaurant close to The White House. The food is classic fine dining, delightful in taste and presentation. The restaurant is quiet, calm and the staff attentive. Well worth a visit!

Prepare to be amazed. We did the tasting menu ($130/each) and were not disappointed - think small plates of mouth bursting, flavor packed bites. The sitting is beautiful and elegant, right across the street from the White House. The food was out of this world wonderful. I highly recommend even though it is expensive - it is an experience as... More

Our business group of 36 people had dinner in the private room here using a fixed menu (using 2 starters, 3 entrees, 2 deserts). The entrees were duck, pork chop, and fluke. The service was impeccable and the food excellent. The preparation, accompaniments, and tastes of the dishes was both creative and tasty. They served this rather large group (for... More

The food was just okay given the cost of it. There are better options in the city during Restaurant Week.

Everything in this restaurant was perfect. The food, wine as well as the service. Everything. They even had a special dessert for my mum who celebrated her birthday.

The restaurant is conveniently located in the heart of DC. The menu celebrates the local fresh water fish. The appetizers and entrees enjoyed by my group elicited much praise. The blending of vegetables and spices perfectly enhanced the main item. The service was attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommend the Oval Room.
