First time at this restaurant. our experience was pleasant and the food was very good. Our waiter was very good and made worthwhile recommendations. Our only regret was the very high bill. Otherwise, we recommend this restaurant.

Had lunch here twice recently. Good salads but a very salty salmon. Service was also fairly mixed. Attentive for a while and then seemingly absent.

My wife and I ate here while we were vacationing in DC this week. Was our big night out to celebrate our upcmioign anniversary. The waiter we had was less than attentive. Had to wait a VERY long time before he came with water, then another very long wait untl he came to take our order. While he was pleasant,... More

So let me start by saying that I'm not big on restaurants where I don't know what half the items on the menu are! I guess I'm not a true "foodie". That being said, I sure do love a great meal, and appreciate a fantastic steak dinner. I had the gorgonzola crusted filet, and my husband had the rib eye... More

The steaks did not taste like quality cuts. The Prime Rib was closed for the holiday so my husband picked a random restaurant. Wasted money, calories, and time. Waitor got upset when another customer commented about her food. He had a fit like a child.

We were a large party mostly of foreigners wearing suits that arrived "late" (9 pm) on a weekday and the restaurant was empty. We ordered water, wine and food. They pushed to serve bottled water and the server didn't ask most people how they liked their steak. At the end they kept bringing desserts that no one had ordered and... More

Over thanksgiving, DC was gripped with some pretty chilly weather, we decided to eat at Smith and Wollensky because we enjoyed their other restaurants in other cities. We noticed that after we sat down and ordered, it just didn't seem to warm up. We figured it was our proximity to the door., and asked if we could be moved to... More

We have been going to this restaurant for holidays for some years, and they never disappoint. We had a nice big private room with terrific wait staff. WE had an amazing array of shellfish for an appetizer and I had truly the best veal chop of my life. It was seasoned and cooked to perfection and as tender as butter.... More

Went there during our stay in Washington, DC for a meeting. Good service, good ambience, and terrific steaks. They have a good, although limited wine list. Certainly one of the good options as far as meat in DC.

My wife and I try and visit a local Smith and Wollensky if there is one on our travels. We started this in NY and followed that with Las Vegas. We arrived in DC wanting to see how this one was. Feeling a little jet lagged we sat at a table by the bar and wanting just some drinks and... More
