Great business place and great food

A central location near Metro Center with first class food. A bit synthetic on the decor and service (they say and do all the right things but not a lot of personality), but the food is outstanding, albeit a bit pricey, especially the wine. I am still tasting the meat and crab cake. Fancy... read more

I don't know why I'm so late in writing a review of Oceanaire, but I should have done so months ago. I liked this restaurant so well, I ate here twice in one week. The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful, pointing out the specialties and making appropriate recommendations (which I took). Everything we ordered was Dee-Lish! The oysters were... More

This was my first time eating at Oceanaire in DC. I was not disappointed. The crab cake was the best I have had anywhere. We had a large group and the service was great. They also have a good wine selection. All plates were clean when we left, lol.

Polished is the first word that comes to mind. The level of confidence and polished flow was very practiced. Invited in with a smile a courteous hostess took our coats, making us feel a sense of belonging. The dining room is a grand vessel with streamlined elegance. The service was impeccable and the food was ideal for the setting. We... More

We visited Oceanaire with my son and daughter-in-law, and it was a perfect, but expensive, evening meal. I had the Australian Barribundi with Crab meat topping. Outstanding. Everyone raved about their meals and the service was perfect. Very friendly and warm, small personal touches without being intrusive. Yes, it is a bit expensive, but so are all of the other... More

I thought that the lighting was very romantic, which is ideal for a date. The food looked and tasted great. Our server was very nice and attentive. I have no complaints. However, in my opinion, all of those things didn't justify the high price. I would go back again during restaurant week when the price is lower.

We went to this well-rated, high-priced seafood restaurant with great expectations and because it was only a five-minute walk from a Christmas concert. We were greeted warmly and seated in a nicely quiet location as requested. The service was excellent save for a delay in taking our wine order. A complimentary starter included good bread and a cold veggie tray... More

We stopped in here for dessert first night in town, order chocolate cake with caramel and chocolate sauce and were overwhelmed by it's size and flavor. One of the best chocolate cakes we ever had. Went back another time for light dinner, again sat at the bar. We each had bowl of soup (lobster bisque and clam chowder) each of... More
