A definite stop for a good meal downtown DC. Forget the little snooty waiter we had, the meal is more important!

The food we had here was superb, as was the service. We came in without a reservation, and sat at the bar. Fantastic service. We shared an appetizer, the crab cakes, which are the best we have ever had. We then shared an entree and a side, and could barely finish. A great experience!

We had a birthday dinner here and it went very well. The restaurant is very well appointed and the service was friendly and efficient. The Halibut was well prepared and delicious although it struck me as a bit on the small side for the price. My wife had the mixed seafood grill and loved it. She also had the Seafood... More

This was our penultimate meal in DC and we had looked forward to it but ultimately it was very disappointing. The front of house seemed polite and efficient but the food service was poor. It seemed like they wanted to get as many through the door and then out as quickly as possible. The mains arrived whilst I was still... More

Arrived here for dinner & like another reviewer found the service to be abrupt & not very friendly. I ordered house smoked Scottish salmon which was certainly nothing like I imagined it to be, as coming from the UK I expected it to be cured salmon, but this was just cooked smoked salmon. Nothing special & disappointing. My main course... More

My side dish of spinich was tastless. The service was spotty and abrupt. I would not go back and i woukd not recommend anyone... More

Oceanaires prices seem to scare me away from eating here again. But the food is nothing extravagant. I feel that since oceanaire has expanded, its quality of food has been lowered. Whenever I travel I always enjoy trying local restaurants not something I can get in my hometown. At least our waiter was attentive and friendly. If you're in the area,... More

My friend/colleague were on a business trip for my 40th birthday so she treated me to a birthday dinner at the Oceanaire and it was fantastic. There was a note that it was my birthday and upon being seated I was wished a happy birthday. The food, was WONDERFUL! I had the Halibut with brussel sprout leaves and bacon -... More

We had heard this restaurant had the best crab cakes in DC! While the crab cakes were good I would hope they are not the best the city has too offer! Our meals were not very special and the high prices obviously were necessary to cover the huge staff and overheads from the large mostly empty dinning room! For the... More
