Sumptuous Food and Atmosphere

We ate here as part of Restaurant Week and were so impressed. The restaurant is lovely with abstract blue watercolors. Plenty of attentive waiters in white coats. The menu was quite innovative I started with a sangria with proseco. I had a shrimp appetizer and salmon on lentils and mushrooms... read more

Nice location. Huge room. Bar situated oddly. Service was ok. Menu was ok. This is a Seafood restaurant. Wine list satisfactory. Pricing is high end, but what one would expect in Washington DC. The food was terrible. The Chilean Sea Bass had clearly been frozen as it was mushy in the middle and tasteless. The Snapper was not much better.

I had eaten at the Baltimore version of this restaurant 4 years ago so I was looking forward to dinner with my wife while in DC. The ambience was great and our server was outstanding. However the food left much to be desired. My salmon was raw except around the edges. My wife had snapper that she couldn't finish. For... More

The hotel I stayed at recommended Oceanaire. The food was bland and over priced. Frankly, I have tasted better food at Red Lobster.

We had a most enjoyable lunch at Oceanaire. Our waiter Nelson offered outstanding service to complement the excellent food. Clam chowder and the spinach salad were plenty to lunch on, and left room for key lime pie as dessert. The key lime pie was the best I've had. Texture was very creamy, taste was tart without being bitter. And- the... More

Will give the 5* rating to the bouillabaisse I had....Went for a business dinner; were seated in a separate room off the main dining area. Main dining area is open, classy, maybe a bit dark. Service was attentive and knowledgeable. Kale salad starter was very good; sides were good; but the real deal was the bouillabaisse: full of fish, clams,... More

Quite possibly one of the best meals that I have ever eaten! The crab cakes are sweet, the appetizers are fantastic and the side dishes are memorable. I am not a big dessert eater but the Key Lime Pie is better than in many places in the Keys of Florida. The staff was exquisite as well. Pricy but worth it!

We have been coming to Oceanaire for dinner on every visit to DC for the last 7 years. It has always been a great experience! This time it was beyond awful and very costly for poor food and poor service. Husband ordered Alaskan salmon with vegetables. It was so salty he could not eat the fish or veggies. I ordered... More

Not crowded at all and a great atmosphere. One had crab legs and they took the crab out of the shell for us. Steak and Sea Bass rounded out the dinner. Great service and great tasting food. Easy location.
