Lebanese Taverna is one of the great survivors of the Woodley restaurant strip--it succeeds by maintaining a high standard of mid-east dishes. There isn't much variation here, just good hummus, baba ganoush, salads, shish kabob and good seafood items. It's not the cheapest place in down, but remains moderate. The location near the big hotels and the Woodley Metro Station... More

We came here within an hour of them closing on a Thursday night, and the staff seemed a little put out even though there were several people seated after us. I was with five high school kids as we were in town for the national high school journalism convention in a hotel across the street. Most of the kids hadn't... More

The Hummus was the best I've ever had; loved this restaurant. So many choices; it was hard to choose. I only wish I'd had more time to go back but I will next time I am in DC. Fabulous meal!

The food and outdoor seating were great. I recommend the kibbeh (ground meat pork in a ball) and m’saka (eggplant, chickpeas, tomato, garlic) appetizers plus rice. It seemed to have a big wine selection but no deserts on the menu. I enjoyed reading the family history and the history of the name of the restaurant on the menu. Interestingly, there... More

This was a wonderful experience! The food and service were impeccable! Be sure to save room for dessert - there are some very unique options, so try something more traditionally Labanese.

Great place for lunch! Wonderful homade pita bread with zitar is served as a starter when you sit down. The lamb shawarma was killer good. They also have Lebanese beer - a first for me. I would definitely go back.

I had wanted to try this restaurant in 2012, based on reviews, but it was closed for renovation during my visit to DC. This time, my patience was rewarded, and my friends and I enjoyed a delightful meal. Well-prepared food, delicious, with very fine service. The atmosphere was lovely also. Definitely check it out if you enjoy Mediterranean food.

Found this place on a gluten free less of restaurants of Washington DC. My friend found a Vodka Svedaa and was very happy. We ordered our food and the starters arrived in good time. Our waitress was not very good, we had to ask for more drinks and then she only took the order from one of the 4 of... More

Very nice ambiance to this restaurant: clean lines and inviting atmosphere with a moderate noise level. Service was very good, with the waiter very helpful in selecting dishes that would give us a good overall sense of Lebanese food. Food was served promptly and at the appropriate temperature. Service was not rushed and we were made to feel comfortable. A... More

This restaurant is part of a group that has won many awards in the Washington area. The food is delicious, the service is acceptable, and the restaurant is bustling. The surprise is the entertainment - a belly dancer. If you like middle eastern food, this place is well worth a visit.
