Come see our new look with a contemporary feel in a refined setting with subtle touches of a Lebanese home. We've added seats to the bar and a new lounge too! Still great for groups of all sizes and the private room now seats 56 people. Located in walking distance from the Marriott Wardman Park and Omni Shoreham Hotels and directly across the street from the Woodley Park Metro station, our DC location is ideal for corporate and social events. Validated self-parking is also available in the garage directly behind the restaurant. The Cedar Room accommodates up to 60 people for a private seated event and 40 people for a standing reception. For smaller affairs, the room can be offered as a semi privately as well. The main dining room is also available for larger parties.

Good gluten free flavorful food

The menu was well marked with GF for gluten free options. I had the chicken kebabs with red rice and some veggies (not marked GF because it comes with Lebanese rice which is not gluten free, but if you substitute for red rice, it is gluten free). It was not as impressive as last year, as there were... read more

Good assortment of flavors and food choices plus free parking make this a stand out on Conn. Ave. excellent selection of mediterranean foods cook very well. drinks and wine compliment the food. The ambiance makes this big space look very accommodating for small groups. I have had many of their non-meat dishes and have always been satisfied.

I came here with a large group and it was wonderful to have a private dining room. I never had Lebanese food before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with several "family style" choices in tasty appetizers, main course dishes and dessert. Dishes were also available for vegetarian, non-vegetarian and gluton-free diets. Service was great!... More

I love Mediterranean style food and this restaurant did not disappoint. It is a little more upscale and the atmosphere is very nice.

Dined here on recommendation of a local. Absolute homerun! If you love Lebanese food, you will love it. If you have never tried this type of food before, you will love it. Service was excellant. It was a hot day and we ordered a pitcher of their white sangria - perfectly refreshing. Tried the sampler appetizer and 3 of us... More

I ordered the Fattoush and Lamb Shank. I felt that the cut of the cucumber and tomato was too large for the strength of the dressing and the thickness of the pita chips. It needed more flavor and was out of balance. The lamb shank was tender and flavorful but had little to no sauce, so ended up being a... More

I haven't had great Lebanese food in a while. I had the Kibbeh Nayeh, raw lamb with fresh onions and olive oil, ewww, it was good. I also had regular Kibbeh, it was great too. I also had the Tabouleh Salad, which was very good too. I was part of a large party and everyone's food looked great, but speaking... More

The Lebanese Taverna is conveniently located across Connecticut Ave. from the Woodley Park Metro station, making it an easy place to reach from the downtown D.C. Area. They serve up authentic Middle Eastern food in an atmosphere that is sleek (lots of stone, tile, and glass) but not at all pretentious. Try Baba Ghanoush for an appetizer---a purée of eggplant,... Attended a business dinner here last night. The hummus trio was remarkable with chicken schwarma, ground beef and lamb, and an awesome spicy hummus with feta. I had the mixed grill kabobs. The kafta was delicious and so was the lamb. I will go back when I'm back at the Omni Shoreham.

We came here on our way back from the National Zoo. It's also directly across from a Metro stop (red line I think?). We sat outside to people watch. We had not had Lebanese food before but have discovered a new love! We got the Chef's platter which had 9 of the mostly appetizers and then another platter that had... More
