Beautiful environment and furnishings, but so loud it was difficult to converse with anyone other than the person on one's immediate left or right (we had a rectangular table for five). Menu is fun, especially from the perspective of one who is unfamiliar with Lebanese or middle eastern fare. Our meals were very good, and there were interesting choices of... More

This spot is across the street from the Metro stop that serves the zoo and we went the Saturday after Christmas. Lots of families with small children were there. My husband and I had the falafel sandwich, his with a side salad and mine with tabbouleh which was worth the extra charge. The sandwich wasn't the most flavorful one I... More

I have been here twice and both times loved it. The appetizer plate is wonderful. The atmosphere is much nicer than you would think judging by the outside of the restaurant. Service was excellent and the food was great.

Nice ambiance, they've tried to give it a bit of middle eastern touch with all the lanterns and candles. The food is really good - tried the chefs platter which was awesome. The mix kebabs were also good. Service was efficient and attentive. Overall a great option in the McLean area.

We went here to celebrate the completion of my PhD defense. We forgot to make a reservation but were still accommodated even though the place was busy. The hummus was excellent! We each---there were 5 of us---ordered different entrees that we really enjoyed. We are looking forward to returning soon! Oh, I forgot to mention that they have a good... More

This place is way overrated. The Tabbouleh or traditional Lebanese salad was so poor that it smelled of preservatives. It wasn't inedible, but it wasn't tasty either. This should not happened for a $9 salad. The entree portions too were small compared to the price. We had chicken curry and kabobs, and the quantities were tiny and food wasn't that... More

Liked everything we had; we ordered a lot of appetizers - self-make Tapas! The food was well prepared and the calamari was delicious but more than we could eat with everything else! Be careful of the breaded, fried lemon wedges in the calamari, though :)

Ordered food to go and brought it back to our hotel. Seasoning was quite good, delicious hummus and chicken and rice, nicely done soups. Super fast service.

Lebanese Taverna is one of the great survivors of the Woodley restaurant strip--it succeeds by maintaining a high standard of mid-east dishes. There isn't much variation here, just good hummus, baba ganoush, salads, shish kabob and good seafood items. It's not the cheapest place in down, but remains moderate. The location near the big hotels and the Woodley Metro Station... More

We came here within an hour of them closing on a Thursday night, and the staff seemed a little put out even though there were several people seated after us. I was with five high school kids as we were in town for the national high school journalism convention in a hotel across the street. Most of the kids hadn't... More
