Not very Irish...

We ate here on both nights of our stay in DC. The food was excellent, our waitress (same girl on both nights) was very friendly and helpful and the free refills on drinks was an added bonus you'd never get in Ireland. Although the decor was exactly what you'd expect in an any pub in Ireland, that... read more

this is next door to another Irish Bar and nearly next door to Capital Hill. We tried both bars and this is the one that is by far better. Good lively atmosphere with live Irish music in the evenings. Prices are OK for the area and we ate there twice in the evening and the food was excellent (considering it... More

Fairly typical pub type food. Heavy on fried offerings, tho fries are fairly good. They do have other options. Atmosphere is plus as they do have an older, Irish pub type decor which is attractive if you like that (I do). Value for cost tho is good.

We found this gem because we were unable to get a reservation at our hotel the food was very good, the atmosphere wonderful, and the drinks good. They have live Irish performers which was a real treat.

I was looking for the perfect pub to wind down in after a long travel day, and I was not disappointed by The Dubliner! We had a shepherd's pie and the fish and chips, and both were excellent. The fish and chips were some of the best I have had! I wish the tartar sauce hadn't been made with sweet... More

We have stayed at a nearby hotel twice in the past three years and have eaten a number of meals here. All of the old Irish favorites plus 1 or 2 fresh seafood specials each day. Food is very good, service is fast, we've never had to wait for more than a few minutes for a table and the atmosphere... More

First, a story. My first visit to DC was in 95 or 96. I came to visit a a friend who lived near DC. One day we came into the city and visited the Capital Building - when you could take pictures while sitting on the steps! - then had lunch at a nearby Irish pub. Great place, and I... More

Relatively close to capital hill and very nice outdoor seating area. Good Irish fare and they do shave Guinness on tap. The service was very good - never had to wait to get a refill on beer or water.

I don't quite understand the negative reviews about this establishment. Service was very good, the food excellent, and I loved the Irish atmosphere. I have never been to Ireland but I can only imagine this place must come close to an authentic Irish Pub. I had corn beef and cabbage and it was very good. Pricey but hey it's downtown... More

In town on business I stopped in with two friends. It was 6 on. Monday we were seated in the bar with plenty of empty seats. By 630 if was SRO and that was tight. We steered with meatball sliders and potato skins. They were out very quickly. The sliders were small buns each with a homemade meatball. The meatballs... More
