Best Chili! Delicious!

Most definitely the nicest and most welcoming place we ate in the two days we were in Washington! The food was very tasty too! A great stop because it was right off the metro and service was very fast. We arrived around 2pm and there was still quite a line up. We managed to get s table at... read more

Most restaurants like this are all hype, there's nothing special and eat at them for nostalgia! However I will say, the food here was actually pretty good! The size of the restaurant is great, the staff is friendly and there's so much history here, it'll be a total waste to visit D.C. and not stop by and get something to... More

I dined at the Ben's Chili Bowl at the Reagan National Airport, outside the security area. I had the salad bowl (lettuce greens, tomatoes, onions, topped with their vegetarian chili & cheese). It was quite flavorful. Though I think the chili was a bit peppery. Nonetheless, it was flavorful. I heard it was a not to be missed. I felt... More

If you in a mood for good chili, this is the place. Great hot dog with chili and the half smoke taste like sausage. Try the chili fries too. Good and spicy.

I don't eat meat, so I thought I would never have the chance to really enjoy Ben's Chili. However, they have a vegetarian chili bowl. So, it made me super happy. Sit in the booths - you'll feel like a part of history. Sometimes there is a line, but it's a manageable and worth-the-wait kind of line.

From what I read this was a place to go in DC. I found it was not a experience I would repeat. The chili dog I tried was fair, but nothing special.

Yes, it is cramped and crowded and all the way up U St., but if you are in DC you need to go! I went in cold weather and it was perfect! Had a chili dog with chili cheese fries-and no heart attack afterwards- and I loved every minute of it. From ordering from the young staff with some seasoned... More

The plusses: (1) directly across the street from the U Street Metro station and (2) a "check the box" activity for a tourist in DC. The deltas: (1) Cash Only, (2) I ordered the half smoke with chili and onions and chili chesse fries. Like others have said, had to wait almost 10 minutes for my food. Seemed a little... More

Be prepared any time of the day or night here to wait to be served in a long queue of at least 10 minutes. This is where Bill Cosby famously comes to have a chili dog every time he is in D.C., & has the infamous sign stating that only he, his family & Barack Obama may eat here for... More

My son saw a segment on this place on Food Network, and he insisted that we visit! It's a landmark and a fun destination. Get the half smoke all the way and enjoy the ambience. The folks there are super friendly!
