Kudos for using farm to fork ingredients. Menu was a bit limited and me thinks a bit on the pricey end for the fare - but I understand excellent quality does come at a price. Service was exceptional and inspired. Extensive wine menu.

Service & ambiance here have not been dulled by years. Great experience. I love that the chef has been inspired by French technique, but nothing was overpoweringly heavy. Starters: celery root soup (maine lobster and salsify hash, lobster oil and scallions - non creamy and fresh), foie gras torchon brûlé (orange jam, brioche, bourbon maple syrup - one of the... More

We had a late reservation (9 pm) to accommodate work schedules - and even then not everyone was able to arrive on time. Our waitress put us at ease immediately, reassuring that she had "all evening" to serve us! We were charmed and amused. With that start, it wasn't surprising that we relaxed and enjoyed our celebration. Friendly, able and... More

The evening started well: we entered a warm and welcoming room and had a cocktail drink at the small but comfortable bar, chatting to the friendly bar man who told us all about the line of Presidents who had dined there. The decor was knowingly old fashioned, masculine, and veiled in soft lighting but was both atmospheric and felt seeped... More

Went here last Saturday night. The atmosphere was great - loved the china, the old Georgetown house, the fireplace. Unfortunately, that's all that was good about the place. I asked for a meal recommendation, as I couldn't chose from among the seafood options, and the waiter selected the most expensive one. At first I didn't catch on, but then when... More

Celebrated a birthday at this traditional Georgetown destination site and enjoyed peace and quiet conversation (a rarity in most restaurants) on the second floor of this townhouse. Having to maintain a low sodium regimen, the chef was able to prepare special dishes for me and wait staff were alert to report what had salt in the dishes ordered by my... More

Complementary valet parking, a handsome room in a Georgetown townhouse with a crackling open fire, starched white tablecloths, attractive place settings and delicate china teacups, a highly competent wait staff that provides correct and efficient service. A Washington tradition for decades. What more could the diner want? How about food to match the decor and service? We found the food... More

Wonderful setting, very good service, and superb food. We tried oyster stew and garganelli for starters, and scallops and lamb shoulder for main courses. All the meals where exquisitely prepared and presented., and the servings were very generous. No room for dessert, unfortunately.

very formal and romantic, not a great restaurant to take my son who is 25 and likes steak and expensive food that he cannnot afford,- the restaurant was too serious and formal for a mother/son duo better for a romantic evening-
