We have been to Tono's several times over the past few years. The sushi is always fresh and well priced during happy hour. The tempura was crispy, and the complimentary seafood salad was tasty. We will continue to go there.

We stopped here for lunch as it is right across the street from the Marriott Wardman Park and we were attending a convention. The restaurant is in the lower level and is quite small, so we had to wait about 15 mins for a table. The atmosphere was comfortable and staff were friendly. There were some great lunch specials with... More

I love sushi, but often it is more expensive than I like so I don't get to eat it as often as I would like. I came in here for the happy hour offer of 1$ per piece of sushi. The happy hour menu was much larger than I expected and everything was VERY fresh. Highly recommend during happy hour,... More

My daughter and I were in DC for a week and we ate here three times because it was so good! The sushi is the best we've ever had, and the service was great! Excellent atmosphere, very friendly staff! Try the Dragon Roll! You won't be disappointed!

$1 happy hour sushi It's not the best sushi or nicest restaurant in town, but it was very near the hotel and was good quality for the price.

This place was recommended by our hotel shuttle driver. Best sushi ever. Drinks were good too. I ordered Jo-Sushi and it was awesome. My daughter ordered the red curry with rice and it was yum. Not to be missed.

Perhaps the main reason I like this place is because it's one of the first sushi restaurants where they don't jip you on certain items - we ordered a veggie roll and there was so much avocado in the roll that it almost couldn't be eaten in one bite! The menu is a great mix between Japanese and Thai. I... More

The restaurant is in a great location with outdoor seating. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. For an appetizer I had Yellowtail Sashimi. They give you 5 pieces and it was great with wasabi. I had a Mixed Green Salad with Ginger Dressing. I love the Japanese ginger dressing :-) For the entree I had Tonkatsu, a deep fried... More

I don't know where the positive reviews come from. The sushi portions are no bigger than the end of my thumb. The rolls are sloppy and not very flavorful. My sake came so lukewarm I had to send it back twice to get it to room temperature. As best I can tell there isn't a single Japanese person making the... More

Stayed in DC with my family for a few weeks and this place quickly became our favorite restaurant. Very good food and a wide selection. My kids don't even like sushi and they still found dishes they liked. Fair price, courteous servers, and lovely decor made our visits here quite enjoyable. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area.
