is it the food or being seen?

Had quite a good dinner here the other night, a Saturday in Bethesda and lo-and-behold we saw no one from NPR or David Brooks. My sushi entree was delicious and quite a large serving. I had a kale salad that was to die for, which is saying something since I have only ever had a kale Caesar Salad... read more

The place is full of energy, it is a little noisy, but the food is excellent. The menu is very large and both the food and beverages are very fairly priced. Try the big bento box, lots of goodies at a very reasonable coast.

A group of 8 instead of the 6 reserved was easily accomodated after a five minute wait. I enjoyed my a la carte sushi of hamachi belly, mackeral, tai and succulent toro. not expensive.... a few good beers and esp. the draft saké in a can called Kikusui. Tasty!! My Japanese friends said they enjoyed their sushi sets and salad.

We really enjoyed our lunch at Raku. The food was absolutely excellent and reminded us of Japan where we lived for several years. We had bento box and noodle soup which were both delicious. As there is no kids menu, the waitress kindly give us some advice to pick something for our daughter. She eventually had yakitori which where good... More

Wandered over from the DuPont Circle Hotel (across the road) and were very happy with our choice. Had the Pad Thai shrimp and it was great and very good value. Great spot for couples, families or singles as there is bar seating. Prompt friendly service and reasonable prices.

This is the place where you can get great food, courtesy, and reasonable bill. I'd recommend sashimi RAKU, see my picture. The RAKU comes with rice. Don't miss the wakame and miso soup. Plus they have great jap beer on draft. If you are sushi lovers, well this is the right place

Another DC staple spot for my wife and I when we visit the area. We usually go there right after the airport. Parking is on the street and usually can be found with a little searching. Everything that I have seen looks fantastic, but we are creatures of habit and can't get past how much we enjoy the Yellow curry... More

The volcano sushi is just great. The others are above average too, but try the volcano. The volcano is possibly the best sushi I ever had.

I don’t know if they try to be rude purposely as a part of their signature or they just who they are but the service alone will stop me from coming back here again. The food was OK and if it wasn't for the service I would probably return. I was here with friends and they were all disappointed at... More

After a few nights eating at higher ranked trip advisor restaurants we ate here (we stayed across the road at the Dupont Circle Hotel). We picked it due to convenience but absolutely loved it. It had a great atmosphere, and whilst the tables are relatively close together it was a really nice atmosphere. The food was great (mongolian pork was... More
