We've always enjoyed going to the Occidental, it has a great atmosphere and the food used to be great. Unfortunately, they've changed their menu. They have less options and the ones they offer aren't very appealing. No one in our party was happy with their food. We probably won't be going back.

Went there for brunch. Beautiful restaurant rich in history. Could spend all day looking at all the photos of the famous individuals whom have dined there over the decades! The scrambled eggs and caviar were to die for as was the hamburger and fries. Great location to stop from sightseeing to relax and rejuvenate. Outside seating looked fun too!

Beautiful day outside and my girlfriend and I decided to sit outside and enjoy your lunch on a Saturday afternoon while visiting D.C.. An awesome menu selection, however, we decided to share the Presidential Burger (really big to share with two people) with the extra stuff added which made the burger to be $55 (the most expensive burger I've eaten).... Went there on a spur of the moment as we waited on our hotel rooms to get cleaned (JW Marriott, do not recommend). It was just down the block and we walked in without a reservation. Service was exceptional, lots of nice things on the menu, however, I would not recommend for children under the age of 12. Loved getting... More

the dinner was perfect and the atmosphere is perfect. Very good food and good wine list. The restaurant has a lot of pictures on the wall from famous people and this is very interesting.

Jumbo Crab Cakes with savory sauce....Duck....seasonal salads, all so delicious! The service is impecable. Mo, is attentive, energetic, and obviously a dedicated professional. Raasikh made sure we were taken of, a manager who is present, approachable and makes you feel the next generation is on the right track. Great time! Do not hesitate to go to the Occidental Grill and... More

Given that this was probably the 5th or 6th time I have eaten at the Occidental Grill it seems safe to assume it is one of my favorite DC restaurants. The sense of history one feels, the photos of decades of political "mover and shakers', the brass plaques in some of the booths recognizing important talks that occurred there, all... More

We had a wonderful lunch! It was a beautiful spring day and we were looking for a place to eat outside. What a great find! The lobster roll was delicious, and paired with the spring sangria, a match made in haven. We will definitely go back when visiting DC next time.

The Occidental is a regal establishment with a great history. They have, in the past, set the standard for service and one could always count on a good food. There seems to be somethign going on as i have been thre twice in the last month and only the busboys and those that support the servers seem to be on... More
