Food was good but there was a piece of sharp plastic in our risotto. Waitress just said sorry about that and left the plastic on table... didnt even take it off the table.. #Disappointing

The presentation & taste of this food was amazing and they gave you a lot of food. I had filet & a crab cake. The crab cake was too rich for me. They also serve a mashed potatoe with either lobster or crab in it & that was spectacular.

Stinking with history, its walls covered with photos of all the famous politicos who have supped here, the Occidental Grill remains one of the landmark restaurants in our nation's capitol. Sandwiched between the famous Willard Hotel and the White House, the Occidental fairly oozes history and politics, and the reason this has been home to a bipartisan fan club is... More

We've stopped by for lunch on Tuesday, October 28. Friendly, corteous staff. Menu is not huge, but what is offered is very good. Had calamari, mushroom soup, and duck salads. Everything was very tasty. Everything was served very professionally, silverware was changed, waiters were mindful. It was not cheap, but it was worth it. Will come back next time we... More

It was a holiday so the town wasn't so busy. We jumped in to have a good dinner after flying in that day to DC. My husband had the special which was a NY strip and I had the ribeye. The steaks were cooked perfectly and seasoned so well. The purée of Celery root was delicious, it had a starchy... More

This restaurant has the best history - the term "lobbyist" originated there... Just ask the hostess for the history sheet and enjoy the incredible wall of portraits... Only displaying real diners. Atmosphere is ideal on the patio or inside. This will be a regular DC dining spot for us!

We were staying at the Willard and decided we didn't feel like going far for dinner. The menu was inventive but it is very expensive.

The Occidental in Washington, DC, a part of the Willard Hotel complex, has been around in the area for about 100 years, though was closed/abandoned for a number of years. It is definitely "old style" in terms of architecture and style, with a beautiful 1890s style bar. The menu, at least the last two times we were there, is small... More

Located across from The White House we visited for an early afternoon Sunday Brunch. Seated outside - The Washington city views are fine however our particular table was a bit too close to the sidewalk as a family waiting for a "Big Bus" tour hovered near us. Be aware. My wife ordered and enjoyed The Grilled Chicken Breast Sandwich which... More
