This is our go-to Mexican Restaurant whenever we are in DC. The menu has many, many choices. There is something for everyone and so far it has all been tasty. I opted for something less heavy this time and ordered the Grilled Shrimp. They were delicious and plenty of them. Others had the... read more

I have provided a review on this Cactus Cantina in the past (well over a year ago I believe) but had to provide another as this was one of the best meals my wife and I have had in quite some time. She had the carne asada and I had chicken/beef fajitas. Everything was outstanding from the chips and salsa... More

I wasn't pleased with their service, regardless if it was busy or not a restaurant with experience should know how to take care of their customers. I've been there before and know for a fact they can do better. The food was not but bad but really wasn't what I expected. Not sure if it's under new management but they... More

Cactus is a great mexican spot for standard tex mex fare. The fajitas are great and the margaritas aren't too bad either. My favorite part of the experience though is always the great mints at the end! I highly recommend Cactus if you are craving some great mexican in a laid back environment.

I wasn't sure about cramming our entire tour group into a back room of this restaurant (we had two buses) but they obviously host this kind of group a lot. The food was outstanding, plentiful, and the atmosphere very festive for a lunch before hitting the road. The only problem we encountered was accessibility for two of our groups in... More

I've been coming here since they opened (nineties) and it has never really let me down for a casual, filling and tasty meal. I particularly like sitting on the terrace (covered) weather permitting, and most of the year, one can do that in DC. This part of Wisconsin Ave. doesn't have a huge number of choices for food, so this... More

One of the most popular Mexican restaurnats in Washington D.C. and deservedly so. The service is top notch. The margaritas are perfect. In nice weather you can dine at table outside. The food is very good. This is much better than the average Mexican/American food. We have eaten here before and will defineitely visit again when we are in our... More

Visited with Teens on a Sunday night. Lots of families, couples and some AU students. Lots of seating and we didn't have to wait. I thought the food was very average. My son enjoyed the fahitas and my daughter her quesadilla but I thought my spinach enchiladas were only ok. Sangria was also very avg and probably wouldn't order again.... More

We've eaten here a couple of times while visiting DC. It's always fun--a little loud, but festive and obviously very popular with locals. Great place for couples or family. If the weather is warm, it's fun to sit outside on the large patio that wraps around the corner. The food is reliably good, though on this last visit, the rice... More

Great chips and shredded beef chimichanga, rice was dry and beans were good but wet. Service was ok as they forgot the guacamole we ordered though it was removed from the bill. Great selection. All in all pretty good not great Mexican.
