Authentic, delicious food that won't break the budget

My husband and I almost didn't stop in because we noticed people sitting outside at tables covered in plastic and reading from menus encased in plastic; we wondered if this was one of those places that just gets food on the table and doesn't much worry about the quality. Wow, that was a wrong... read more

Me and a friend went to lunch here recently and we loved their food! The prices are extremely reasonable. Their location is close to the DuPont Circle metro station which is good. Their staff are very friendly and knowledgeable to explaining different ingredients and how food items are cooked. I will definitely bring my husband and more friends to this... More

I recently visited Zorba with a friend. I ordered the combination plate, which says: "Zorba's most popular variety platter of your choice of pork or chicken souvlaki, yero and kefte, served over rice with two dolmathakia, pitta bread & a side of tzatziki and hommus." Given the "choice," I requested all chicken. I was then handed a pager and went... More

I have been going to Zorbas for over 25 years. I started when I was in college and now I take my kids there when ever we are downtown. Fancy? no! Good? absolutely! Basic Greek restaurant with a lot of differerent options. I highly recommend the Gyro Plate as it is the best in DC. Get there if you can... More

This is a great spot for authentic Greek cuisine. 3 of us ate here - you order/pay and then find a spot to sit. There is an upstairs area as well as the street level for tables. Everything we ate was excellent - very fresh, good portion size and properly spiced. One of us had lived in Greece for 2... More

We ate here almost out of necessity the first time. 9.30pm, nothing we fancied and in DuPont circle. This was cheap and nearby. First impressions - small, like a little cafe. Very low expectations. It's an odd place, like a fast food joint you find a table, go up and order and take your food from the service bar to... More

We came here on a sunny late March afternoon and sat outside eating below-average moussaka ($14.50!) and yeros washed down with some tasty imported beers. The saving grace was their grand falafel wrap ($8.50, and the pitta-less falafel plate at $11.50) which offered robust, slightly dry portions that were nevertheless tasty and fulfilling. Service is nonexistent here – you’ll need... More

A returning visitor & a Zorba's fan -- Zorba's never disappoints! we each ordered the basic falafel plate and a greek salad -- the lettuce and all accompanying ingredients were f*r*e*S*h. no day-old stuff served here. because it was Sunday afternoon with the sun shining and 70 degrees, DuPont Circle was lively. Zorba's expects patrons to line up at the... More

Ok - you order your own food from the counter and pick it up when it's ready - but the food is great - reasonably priced - and the upstairs area is just like an ordinary restaurant. If you are prepared to provide your own service then this is a good place to eat !

Zorbas is a great place for excellent Greek fare in Dupont Circle. Outside seating is available; however, the weather was a bit cool for outside dining. We did have a wonderful table by the window and enjoyed our tasty lunch. I was even treated to a free piece of baklava. Nice! I'll definitely return when I'm in the area.
