After all the raving reviews from TA I decided I couldn't miss out on dining at Filomena. In my opinion the food was average, not bad but definitely nothing special. The portions were huge and the menu extensive but that was it. I still seriously cannot understand all the hype its gotten on TA.

We had dinner here with my daughter and several friends from Georgetown U. Setting is lovely, softly lit, cozy banquettes and lively crowd. A local Georgetown acapella group was busy serenading the ladies which made for an entertaining evening. The service was polite and prompt. The food however is mediocre and over priced. Large portions serve at least two per... More

The atmosphere is awesome. We always tend to make a reservation but if you do not have one they do their very best to fit you in. Great portions with a large menu selection. Caprese Salad is great. I never know what to order because it is all so good.

I have eaten at Filomena on several previous trips to D.C. over the past 15 years and returned last week. I am delighted that the food and service both remain outstanding. The after dinner Amaretto that was complementary added to the ambience of an outstanding meal. I recommend Filomena for either business, family, or couples meals!

If you're definition of outstanding and incredible is big portions, then the joint is for you. If you judge food by taste, then incredible it ain't. Those of us from Brooklyn, NY and NJ who grew up on Italian food know that this is on par with any local pizza shop. No better maybe worse. To say incredible is a... More

Was recommended this restaurant by a Taxi driver and was glad of his recommendation. To gain entrance you walked past some lady's making pasta. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. We both had fish. After we finished our meal they brought out a decanter of Sambuca and Amaretto for our pleasure. Highly recommend

Visited with friends for dinner while on holiday in DC. All 5 meals were delicious- portions were very generous (glad I skipped a starter!) and desserts extravagant. Our server was really friendly and helpful, and the restaurant was buzzing with laughter. Prices are a little higher ($20-30 pasta dishes) but well worth it for a special occasion. Top tips: house... Great Italian food in great neighborhood. They make pasta on site and you can see it being made as you enter the restaurant. Portion sizes are large and I would recommend sharing if you decide to get an appetizer. Don't forget to take a dessert to go. The Cannoli was delicious.

My daughter and I had dinner at Filomena after seeing the wonderful reviews they've gotten over the years. First of all, it's downstairs so walking down into the restaurant you are surprised by the cozy, warm feeling-fresh flowers, lit candles, gorgeous deserts in display case. We had a reservation-it was packed-and waited maybe 5 minutes before being seated. The service... More

I went to Filomena Ristorante with a friend who told me this is one of his favorites restaurants in D.C. After our meal this is one of my favorites too. The experience is amazing, as soon as you enter the place you can see a lady making pasta just in front of you. Then, the service is really good as... More
