Our dinner at Tabard Inn was tasty (steak was prepared medium rare instead of requested medium, but otherwise was good), but you'd think for a $175 tab for three folks, we would have had good service. Instead, we were constantly on the lookout for our waiter in the off chance he passed nearby. However, the real unfortunate part of our... More

We ate in the garden on a warm summer day which was lovely. This restaurant is known primarily for brunch and lunch but we enjoyed our dinner. We had scallops and jumbo crab cake . It was expensive. Weddings are booked here so check ahead.

Cozy interior, old inn with whiskey library and back dining area. Great attentive service from our French waiter. Calamari app was fresh and cooked well. My wife had the duck which was very tender. My crab cake was sizable and almost all loose lump crab, but a bit flavorless. Our dessert of "death by chocolate" was definitely worthy of the... More

The brunch here is not knock-you-out good but it is reliably decent every time I have had it. Today, I had the spinach eggs Benedict with the sauce on the side and home fries. It was good. I also shared some chilled avocado soup with my eating companions which was fine. The Tabard Inn donut was okay, as well. My... More

The Concierge at The Mayflower recommended we go here. it is farm to table and fresh ingredients with some incredible bread. The place is like an English bed and breakfast and is in the back of the hotel. It was a very nice setting. We were in a hurry as we had to leave for Philadelphia but they were able... More

i'd describe it as a decent menu at a decent price. it is well located and attracts a fair amount of k-street expense account types during and after work hours. so beware of crowds and noise. but overall it works well.

The Tabard Inn is the kind of place that is perfect for a special occasion. I have no doubt this distinguished old building has its regulars and I imagine I would be one as well if I lived in DC. Our family has enjoyed celebrating birthdays at the Tabard Inn throughout the years, and each time the food has been... More

A fun place for brunch, with their famous donuts. Lots of small quaint rooms, seating at the bar and plenty of outdoor seating, too. Very popular. Would definitely go again.

Antique-like wood and carpets make this feel like a hunting lodge in the middle of the DuPont Circle area. If you want breakfast, you might consider getting there a little before opening time for a good seat (without a reservation). The counter is a little cramped for space, but the amazing menu makes up for that. The Eggs Benedict is... More

The outdoor patio area is a treat - very European feeling - and with parachutes (I think) used as umbrellas! Unique. The interior dining areas are too dark for my liking. Our meals were really good and the portions are large. Service was a tad spotty but all in all the experience was quite enjoyable.
