The blueberry jam that was served with the toast was worth the visit on its own.

This is a great place to eat, one floor up if you want less noise and a bit more privacy. This is definitely a place with both charm and character, much better that eating in a mausoleum. Menu has not changed much over the years and it’s always excellent. Make sure you get the duck breast (medium like the chef... More

Love the setting of the old inn, with its narrow halls, fun bar area and quaint little rooms. We had a group of ten, sat a big table in large room, but it felt intimate for our group. Right level of noise for good conversation. Informed waiter helped us through the menu. I had the best crab cakes of my... More

The lower ceilings, dim lighting and expansive woodwork added to the historic charm of this hotel/restaurant in the heart of Dupont. My wife and I were on a date, but the parlor--with its stone fireplace and comfy old furniture--would also make for a great after-work meeting spot with friends. The hostess and servers were friendly and quick to seat us... More

Went here for a group event - a tea party. Tea was fine, though the items served did not include the usual finger sandwiches, scones, or other dainties. I'll have to go back and try their regular menu for brunch, as the tea just wasn't what I expected. The setting is lovely, though, in the serene old mansion.

I dined here as part of a rehearsal dinner and had the salmon option. My significant other had the filet. Both were phenomenal. Very cool old venue with great art everywhere.

Have been to the Tabard several times and it never fails in quality and execution and Christmas eve was no exception. Food was wonderful and the service was exceptional. The execution by the staff is seamless and understated. Never once was it necessary to ask for anything or to answer supercilious questions. A perfect evening in a charming steeting.

If I could, I'd give this restaurant four and a half stars. It comes very close to rating five. We were a mix of friends and family. Beautiful atmosphere, though a bit crowded and noisy. The Sunday brunch menu included a wide variety of promising choices. Our table had a basket of wonderful muffins waiting for us as we sat... More

The Tabard Inn has been a popular Dupont Circle lunch spot for many years. My favorite time of year is the spring, summer and fall, when the charming garden is open, but on a chilly winter day, that's not an option. The restaurant can be noisy, and many of the tables for two are too close together for my taste,... More

My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant last weekend for brunch. We really enjoyed it. She ordered the scrambled eggs and I ordered the poached eggs. We both enjoyed our meals. We also split a doughnut and it was great. I will definitely go back for brunch.
