i'd describe it as a decent menu at a decent price. it is well located and attracts a fair amount of k-street expense account types during and after work hours. so beware of crowds and noise. but overall it works well.

The Tabard Inn is the kind of place that is perfect for a special occasion. I have no doubt this distinguished old building has its regulars and I imagine I would be one as well if I lived in DC. Our family has enjoyed celebrating birthdays at the Tabard Inn throughout the years, and each time the food has been... More

A fun place for brunch, with their famous donuts. Lots of small quaint rooms, seating at the bar and plenty of outdoor seating, too. Very popular. Would definitely go again.

Antique-like wood and carpets make this feel like a hunting lodge in the middle of the DuPont Circle area. If you want breakfast, you might consider getting there a little before opening time for a good seat (without a reservation). The counter is a little cramped for space, but the amazing menu makes up for that. The Eggs Benedict is... More

The outdoor patio area is a treat - very European feeling - and with parachutes (I think) used as umbrellas! Unique. The interior dining areas are too dark for my liking. Our meals were really good and the portions are large. Service was a tad spotty but all in all the experience was quite enjoyable.

A local sent us here, said this was one of her favorite places. Wow, not sure what happened between her last visit and ours, but what a wreck of a place! It looked cute at first glance, but as you get settled and look around more, cute evolves into tatty and not very clean. Not sure if the staff was... More

The atmosphere is comfortable/classy/happy. The clientele is upbeat and the place is full of laughter and toasts. The waitstaff are attentive and hard working. The menu selection is great and the food is prepared with perfection. You don't want to miss this place.

yesterday I had the most humiliating experience at Tabard Inn - I asked for a table solo, the guy helping me asked for a couple of minutes - no worries - after 15 minutes while service staff including the guy who asked for the couple of minutes totally ignored me, walking buy not even offering me a drink, I decided... Wow this is one of the best restaurant in DC. It was very close to the hotel we were staying at. The food was amazing and service was #1.

Worst service ever. Never got to taste the food as they left me waiting - standing - for 1.5 hours, without ever giving me a table.
