If you are looking for a comfortable place to get a platter of delectable oysters and a glass of perfectly chilled wine, look no further. The dark wood, friendly staff, and old-Washington ambience of the place is balm for the soul in this somewhat craven metropolis.

Supposedly this is the place to go in DC. We were able to get reservations for 9:30pm on a Saturday night. The place is huge! The prices were reasonable for a big city dining experience. Good meal, not one of my top ten, but good. $18 for one crab cake, slaw and some chips. Chips were disappointing but a good... More

If I think of the service, we had a great one... we took appetizers and they were good, but why didn't I enjoy it? Okay, we probably didn't go on the best day; Mother's day around 2pm. I thought it was crowded and felt like my table was so small I was dining with our table neighbours... I just didn't... More

I am not a fish person, but their clam chowder is amazing. The service was great- we were a group of 18 so sometimes service can be compromised in a large group but not here. Had a burger- it was just okay, but others loved their food. It is a tourist spot, so make reservations early.

Every time we go into town with family/friends for a site-seeing trip, we take them to Old Ebbitt Grill for Eggs Benedict. No, they are not permitted to order anything else to eat. I am certain Eggs Benedict cannot be better prepared and there is no better DC atmosphere. Ebbitts + Benedict + mimosas = perfect!

This was a great place. We had a large group and we had made a reservation on Mother's day. The place was hopping! While we waited we visited at the bar and were waited on by a great waiter named Alex. Very charming and made great drinks and free strawberry shortcake shots for all the Moms! We were seated in... A very stylish restaurant with a touch of class. Excellent food and attentive service, on the noisy side.

My wife, mother, niece, son and I enjoyed a meal at the Old Ebbitt last weekend. Never eaten here before but others recommended it highly. We enjoyed our meals. Selection of entres was good but not expansive. Everything was prepared well. Desserts were awesome. The area we sat in was very loud. Some of the wait staff had to almost... More

Had breakfast here prior to leaving the city and it was the icing on the cake of a great weekend. The service was very friendly and fast. The place is steeped in Washington culture. The breakfast was wonderful. The orange juice fresh squeezed. Every thing seasoned to perfection. It is right across from the White House so it is a... More
