We had reservations for 630 pm and were seated on time but you would have waited on a Thursday night if you didn't have reservations. Our table of four all enjoyed their varied entrees which for an establishment this large is not always easy to achieve. Different seating areas and lots to look at besides great people watching.

This is an exciting grill despite being huge - perhaps more than 100 tables! Around 7 PM it is full of people and lots of noise, yet service is attentive and the food is great for the price. My hamburger with grilled oysters was fantastic. Prices are very affordable and the wine list should win awards because of the choices... More

The concierge recommended Old Ebbitt Grill when we asked where to have brunch. Walking into OEG is quite the experience. I can just imagine the DC power brokers wheeling and dealing through the years at this place. Brunch must begin with a Bloody Mary and Mimosa for us and both were very good. And, unlikely many places, these were both... More

We tried to get in at 5pm on a Friday...HAH! it was so so crowded that we left.....found out later that there are FOUR bars (not just the one at the main door) and we could have been served at one of the others....oh well, we went back for breakfast on a Monday and it was wonderful....we were seated immediately,... The food is very good. However, we had a very rude and arrogant waiter the first time we had breakfast at Old Ebbitt Grill. After making a request to include egg whites along with the eggs in an omelette, the waiter questioned my request, laughed at my concern and mocked my reaction. He did make the request to the chef... Having lived in DC and having visited many times, I had not had the opportunity to eat at Old Ebbitt Grill--which is in a great location and is an iconic DC restaurant. Went with another couple on a Sunday night with reservations and I was excited to be going. Overall, I was very disappointed. First, we had a reservation and... More

Visited this restaurant for the first time 2 weeks ago, then went back for another dinner, and we had Sunday brunch here the day we were leaving We had booked a table, and judging by the number of people who were waiting for a table without a booking, this was essential. The service was very good, explaining anything we asked... More

Made reservations for Friday at 6:30 PM as this is one of the places to go. We arrived on time. Had to wait for about 10 minutes the got a table for two. Menu is ok and we ordered applies and drinks. Nothing on the menu inspired us so we finished our drinks and left. I was looking at all... More

Locals and tourists packed the lobby to this very popular restaurant just around the corner from the White House. Ask for a booth to really experience the best the restaurant has to offer. Service was efficient and helpful. Food very good and reasonable too given the location. Beware this place is very busy and can be quite noisy...fun though.
