Walked in on a week day just before noon, and they seated us immediately. Food was very good and service attentive. One of the better meals we had during our trip. And a rarity for DC, it was a good value for the money. We must have timed it just right...the place was packed when we left.

The Old Ebbitt Grill has a long history in Washington DC and always draws a crowd. The wood paneling and gas lights all speak to its past. The menu offers a wide variety including Italian dishes and steaks. It won't disappoint.

The Old Ebbitt Grill is clearly the place to be in DC. It is obvious that if the walls could talk they would have countless stories to tell. Just walking down the worn marble steps to the bathrooms made one wonder about all of the history that had taken place there- The style is old world elegant and the food... More

The Old Ebbitt Grill is in a great location right by The White House. We arrived about 4pm on a Wednesday afternoon and were seated quickly as it was not very busy. Our orders were also taken quickly by the most lovely waitress whose name I have sadly forgotten. It took a while for our drinks to arrive but we... More

I did not have a reservation and was told I could find a bar spot if I wanted to wander. I found a great spot (1) at the bar and had a great steak and drinks and talked with people around me. I was there at 9ish on a Friday so it was very busy but the staff seemed to... More

This place is only a couple of blocks from the Whitehouse and appears to be the place to see and be seen (if this is your scene...) We were the only people in there when we arrived at 11:30 am, but by the time we left, this place was packed. This restaurant was originally a saloon and was founded in... More

Old Ebbitt felt like a true DC experience, right down to the location and the fabulous decor. Great oyster happy hour and fun, lively atmosphere - obviously a hot spot for Friday evening cocktails and dinner, even the reception area was packed by 7pm. Would definitely go back!

Ate supper here with my husband while on a business trip to DC. We arrived here by Metro with a short walk. We had eaten here before & enjoyed the place. It was very noisy. Part of the problem was being seated next to a giant airbag who never stopped talking the entire time we were there. I'm a talker... More

We had a short city break to Washington over New Year, we decided to stop off for some food at Old Ebbit as it was very close to the White House and other attractions we wanted to visit. The food was good, about average for the price, I did not find anything that was particularly spectacular about the food, nor... More

Good food, Slow Service, Great location. Seated almost immediately even though it was busy that day. Good location just adjacent to the Main tourist sights.
