Great Oysters

When I'm in DC I always visit Old Ebbitt Grill for oysters. There is a 50% off special on oysters during early afternoon and very late evenings. There is a good selection of food in a traditional DC restaurant environment. I keep going back and will do next time in there.

Went here after a four hr walking tour, very nice interior, reasonable service at first but then things went downhill. Not brought bread after being offered twice. After ordering, my wife's meal was not what she ordered and mine was cold. The server brought me a new meal and my wife was server the correct meal about 10 mins later.... More

Perfect location - Two minutes from the White House, five minutes from Washington Monument. Great service - the place was packed, got two seats at the bar, had a cold beer in front of me within one minute. Never had to wait for a refill. Great food - Ordered Pemaquid Oysters (even though I am from New England) they were... More

A great place to enjoy seafood in Washington. We were a group of 10 and had excellent service and great food. We made it in time for happy hour and enjoyed 1/2 price oysters. The crab cakes were great. Everyone enjoyed everything they ordered. It is a large restaurant and very busy and noisy. It is very much a 'must'... More

We ate breakfast here twice. Tourists and locals alike eat here and the food was great. Loved the breakfast club, a stuffed french toast.

As being in DC people told me I have to eat here. Not being a seafood person was a little taken back by smell of seafood when I walked in. After being seated so much history to look around , food was good waitress very slow but overall seems to be a must stop when in Dc

We have eaten here before and we were just as pleased this time. We highly recommend the Cuban sandwich. It was delicious. My husband had the eggs Chesapeake and really enjoyed them. The restaurant was definitely full but there was no wait time for a table.

The Old Ebbitt has an excellent location, about a block from the White House. Walking to it is fun as the route goes through a great part of DC with some cool buildings, historical and modern. We went for a late brunch and got seated immediately; it was busy, however. The food came fairly promptly and the waiter, host, and... More

Great experience, bustling atmosphere, and very good food. We had to wait a bit for our table but the wait staff was very friendly.
