Good Atmosphere, Good Food

In an area in DC lacking in restaurant options, the Old Ebbit Grill is a very popular option. We were worried that the size of the place and all the people would equate average to poor food and drinks, but we were very pleasantly surprised and wrong. We found out that all oysters and shrimp are 1/2 off during Oyster Hour from 4:30-6:00PM! Great deal and we all scarfed it down! Delicious seafood!! That was our dinner for our whole family and everyone loved it!

We actually had no choice but this restaurant when we were in the White House area. We are starving and all other restaurants were too pricey & froufrou. The place was packed but they accommodated our party of 11 in 20 minutes. The staff were polite and friendly. The food was really good and prices were not exorbitant.

Ate breakfast at Old Ebbitt Grill. Good thing we had reservations as they were lined up outside prior to opening at 8:30am. By 9:00am there was a 45 minute wait for a table. Food was great, service was great too, though breakfast for 2 was with tip and tax was $50. Would return and recommend to all.

Recently visited for brunch during the height of the Cherry Blossom festivities. Seems to be an institution for brunch and tourists. We had a reservation so we were seated right away. I chose to try the Po Boy sandwich which was good as were the spicy like french fries. The restaurant was charming and historic.

Saturday evening and long lines! Directed to one of 4 bars - our choice - and crowded but found 2 stools. Crowd disbursed rather quickly leaving lots of room. Waiting line still long but we were served quickly with outstanding food.

I like going to places that has some history, so we had to try the Old Ebbit Grill. The places seems to always be packed, granted we were there during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The food was good, service was great and our food arrived in a timely manner.

Recommended by our hotel, as "an institution in D.C', Old Ebbitts Grill we found to be a delightful antique-filled restaurant. It looks like a turn of the century gentlemens club, with hunting trophys and antique beer steins, and wall murals of Washington D.C. parades. Once seated, we had a leisurely meal with fantastic fresh oysters and the house special crab... More
