Great Historical Restaurant

This restaurant was one of Roosevelt's favorite places to eat in DC and you will find some of his stuffed hunting trophies on the walls. The food is great, the service is average speed. Try the oysters or the seafood.

I've been to the Old Ebbitt Grill several times and always try to eat here when I'm in DC. Most recently, I ate here last October for brunch with a friend. We both really enjoyed our food. It is always very busy, but the service is still good.

We had dinner here while on vacation in DC, based on recommendations here on TripAdvisor and OpenTable. We loved the historic building with all of the unique features and stories, it looked just like a place that you could imagine locals and politicians coming to for over a century. We made a reservation and were seated very quickly, even on... More

Ate here at the bar on our 2nd day in DC. It was hot, humid and we needed a break . My husband enjoyed his mahi-mahi skewers, I had - guess what - a Chicken Caesar! Great atmosphere. We also visited for a late lunch on two other days. My holiday sandwich treat - the Reuben - lived up to... More

The restaurant looks a bit stuffy, but the food and wait staff are not. Good seafood, we had crab cakes, and chopped shrimp salad along with a fried green tomatoes appetizer. Decent prices and right around the corner from the White House.

Worst service I've ever experienced in a restaurant ever. No lie. Please go somewhere else, it's not worth it. This place gets a lot of traffic directly across the street from the White House being one of DC's most iconic, oldest restaurants. We were extremely pleased upon arrival. Others were being quoted waits upwards of 45 minutes and we were... More

The mussels were sublime. The broth was so good that I wish a straw would have been socially-acceptable. My salmon was delicious and very reasonably priced. My daughter enjoyed her meal off of the kids' menu. Great location. Easy ( and good) - place to eat with families.

This is a great restaurant, one of the best in DC area. But they are always busy and very booked, which says a lot aboy the restaurant. Call a few days in advance, you probably won't get in the day you call. The food is fantastic, it's clean and the service is great.
