Description: Chevy Chase is our third Washington, DC area location. Launched in February 2012, this 150-seat restaurant includes spacious indoor, outdoor, and private dining seating. Blending traditional and modern elements of Mexican craft and architecture, the warm and vibrant decor features Rosa Mexicano’s signature hues of pinks and purples. Multi-dimensional art work complements rich fabrics and textures, as well as a floor-to-ceiling display of tequila bottles. Directly over the bar and extending into the dining lounge area, the ceiling glows with pink haze lighting that is set against an electric blue tiled cascading water wall, inspired by those at sister Rosa Mexicano locations. The enclosed patio area features a wall of vertical colored glass bands, creating a focal point from the street and exhibiting arrival for the Rosa Mexicano experience that awaits. The restaurant’s location is just steps away from Chevy Chase Pavilion and stores such as Neiman Marcus, Tiffany, Louis Vuitton, Barneys, Gucci and more, among a variety of restaurants and hotels.

Ate there with family (w/teens) on a busy Saturday night. We were told there would be a 25 minute wait, we took a buzzer and went to the bar, passing empty tables en-route. Sat at a large bar table and was asked if we would like to eat there. So after a 5 minute wait to set the table we... More

Their margaritas are quite good, can't go wrong. Food is solid, not average Mexican chain. I had great empanadas and mexicaesar salad for a nice balanced dinner. Their black bean refritos and (brown!) rice accompaniments to my wife's enchiladas were full of yumminessball. Sleek atmosphere, comfortable, and not pretentious.

International feel to this modern Mexican restaurant. The guacamole made fresh at the table was very good. My enchilada was covered in a mild tomato sauce. The kids' quesadillas were good, but unremarkable. My wife's flautas de pollo were interesting and tasty. Overall, it was a step up from the usual Mexican fare, and the prices reflected this.

Went there for dinner on a Sunday evening – picked it because I had been to one of the chain's locations in NYC and liked it. This one's in Friendship Heights (even though at first I had the impression it was on Conn Ave as the address was Chevy Chase) just on the edge of the Friendship Heights shopping area.... More

The restaurant is nice, and the service was very good. The food was a bit bland for Mexican -- muted for American tastes. A bit pricey. Relaxing though.

We went there for an early New Years Eve dinner. The guacamole was wonderful as usual. They had a prix fixe menu which was a good value. I wish they had had more of my favorites on the menu, but overall is was a nice night.

I've only heard great things about this restaurant. The décor of our two restaurants in DC is colorful and soothing. A friend gave me a gift card more than a year ago and I just got around to using it. I lunched here and had the delicious chicken quesadilla. It was light and flavorful. The service was very good. The... More

I was delighted to find a Rosa Mexicano near my hotel in Chevy Chase/DC. The food is delish. The guac can't be beat. I was pleased to find such a great children's menu too. The margaritas are great.

This beautiful tablecloth and cloth napkin restaurant is one of a smallish chain of Mexican restaurants that offer typical Mexican tortilla dishes as well as fish and meat main courses. Their signature dish is guacamole made from scratch at table side in a lava mortar and pestle; it was wonderful either with chips or soft tortillas. Sangria was unremarkable but... More

My friend wanted to go to this restaurant and as I have never been, I went. One of their selling points is for someone to come to your table and make guacamole. This is not unusual (a number of restaurants do this now) but is still a nice touch. The chips and salsa they brought were nice, but not enough... More
