Description: Panas specializes in Latin fusion gourmet empanadas, crescent- shaped turnovers, stuffed with well seasoned combinations of meats, vegetables, spices, fruits, and sweets. Our recipes are inspired by the idea of Latin Fusion cuisine; a culinary concept based on creating new recipes by combining traditional and modern culinary techniques and mixing ingredients from different countries in the Americas. The only empanadas’ tradition we want to preserve is that empanadas a great idea and fun package for food.

Checked this place out with the wife as we needed a quick snack. They were out of cheese which is what we really wanted. Ended up trying the pepperoni empanada which was just okay. I'd come back just to try the cheese empanadas.

Very limited selection, they were out of 5 types of empanadas. Service was fast but actual quality of empanadas was just okay. They appeared to be microwaved and were not very warm. I'd pass and find a different place next time.

My Chilean friend and I happened to be walking past and decided to stop in for lunch. What a great decision! The staff were extremely helpful and suggested we get a pile of different flavours to try. They were all excellent and served on a long wooden board, all lined up. The prices are very reasonable and they have items... More

We were the only ones in the restaurant and they took the time to explain the menu to us and gave us an empanada as a sample. We tried a variety of empanadas and they were all very good! I would definitely eat there again!!

This place just keeps getting better. My husband and I were surprised that they now serve wine, which is a great addition. We go here for both take-out and dine-in. Friendly people, low stress. My only complaint is that their "Brie Art" empanjanas often sell out by the end of the day, and I love those!

This place is a great value! There are a great variety of empanada and you can mix and match. The Cuban and brie were particularly good. The server was quite friendly and even gave us free drinks since it was our first visit to the restaurant. I would definitely stop by here again while in the Dupont Circle area.

These were awesome, I went two days in a row. Small restaurant, but the food is top notch and just the right amount. Very good. Mix and match type of place. Be sure to mix them. Go for the biggest amount they offer. The sauces are awesome.

I'm not sure it's "gourmet" per se, but they are creative with ingredients and it is a trendy looking place. The staff were exceedingly pleasant and friendly though, and there were a ton of choices. Expect to wait 6 - 10 minutes for them to put it through the oven. The sauces were quite nice, though. If you REALLY want... More

We went there as we were passing by, and we're like we never tried empanadas before! so we went inside and ordered two empanadas since we already had lunch an hour before. The owner was like only two? and he was so kind he added two and told us to come back again. Loved the empanadas!

Apparently I got here right before they were closing, so they were giving me more empanadas than I wanted to eat! I didn't mind it because they were all good. The employees were really nice and engaging - they really wanted to make sure I enjoyed what I was selecting. And they steered me in the right direction because every... More
