Panas specializes in Latin fusion gourmet empanadas, crescent- shaped turnovers, stuffed with well seasoned combinations of meats, vegetables, spices, fruits, and sweets. Our recipes are inspired by the idea of Latin Fusion cuisine; a culinary concept based on creating new recipes by combining traditional and modern culinary techniques and mixing ingredients from different countries in the Americas. The only empanadas’ tradition we want to preserve is that empanadas a great idea and fun package for food.

A fun and delicious dining experience!

My husband and I went here and split the 8 empanada combo (including plantain chips) with a side of guacamole. We were both blown away by the delicious flavors and the quality of ingredients. You can also choose sauces to go with the empanadas so you can make it as spicy as you want! The empanadas... read more

Panas is a must do for Empanada lovers! They offer a wide variety of choices from the traditionally tasty (highly recommend the steak and chipotle w/ black bean) to the less traditional/comfort (ham and cheese, pepperoni pizza style etc). Diners can try an assortment of easily identifiable choices (by the marking on the outer shell) and a variety of sauces.... More

I lived in Argentina for a few years and so will jump at anything that resembles the food down there. These empanadas aren't quite the same as the ones down there, but they are still quite delicious and the variety of flavors makes me want to come back and try them all, even if they are overpriced. It's more about... More

Thanks to Trip Advisor we "discovered" Panas Gourmet Empanadas. This is a SMALL restaurant (about eight small tables) in a step-down location on P Street near the Dupont Circle metro station. The empanadas are very good and reasonably priced. A combination of eight empanada and four dipping sauces plus two fountain drinks ran about $20.00 and was easily enough for... More

We got empanadas based on the reviews here. They are okay, but not worth a special trip. These would have been better after a night of heavy drinking!

This place was so so so good. They are small bit size empanadas. You get a tray ranging from 4 to 8 and you can mix and match what type of empanada's you want. We tried 8 different meat ones, which came w/ 4 sauces ranging from mild to spice and a side of plantain chips. These were the bomb... More

I like the diversity of tastes and the cute little locale with a view toward P street. Nice bite to grab on a weekend night.

The empanadas were really well made. The crust was exceptional. We tried to order a variety of flavors, but we were not served what we ordered. We didn't complain and went with the flow, the surprise was part of the experience. And we weren't disappointed. The empanadas were served with a variety of sauces, which were all very good. But...
