You must go with the house mussels, although I'm sure all variations are worthy. Intimate basement venue with a great Belgium beers selection as well. As one, I found a spot at the bar but you may want a reservation for this active venue. As a great beer venue it may be hard for very large groups

Been here several times and I always get the mussels. Never been disappointed. Mussels are always perfect and the fries are hot and well seasoned. Great atmosphere, reminds me of being in small restaurants in Europe. Easy access to Metro and very affordable.

This is the first place we ate in DC and we really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was relaxed and the food was great. I had the spicy white wine mussels, which were really good. They serve all their mussel pots with several slices of French bread so you needn't worry about being able to sop up all the leftover juices!... More

This place was recommended by a friend in order to meet up with some old friends. While quite at 5pm it quickly filled up and became very energetic. While not the place to go in the evening for a quiet drink, definitely the place to go for mussels and a drink. All the draft beers are Belgium based and plenty... More

Best mussels ever. Get there before 6PM and a pot of mussels is only $11. Extra bread for dipping the wonderful sauce is a must. Many Belgian beers on tap. Fries and onion rings are also top notch. Peter, the bartender, is a real help for recommendations around town.

We stopped in on a dreary Saturday in October and ended up leaving with sunny dispositions. We sat the cozy bar in front of a college football game but I couldn't remember who played. The bartender was a true professional whose charm and knowledge of the city's bars kept us entertained and never wanting. We tried a couple of their... More

Great place to go with friends for night out. We had about 6 of the mussel options (Old Bay, Paella were favs) and all were amazing. Onion rings and brusetta with proscuitto and pear were also great. Smallish place, so reserve if you can.

Every time we come to DC, my husband and I always set at least one dinner date with friends in the District at St Arnold. It's kind of unique place in DC. They cook mussels in different ways, Italian, Thai and many other variations. The place is always full and so it is better to call for reservation. Just a... More

Highly recommend St. Arnold's for their incredible variety of mussels dishes and beers. The Frites are delicious. The service is very. The owner/entrepreneur knows his business. Best time is weekday lunch. Their other menu is worth investigating as well. Has an open air option with its garage door front.

Little bar that was quiet during lunchtime, with a great waitress with great knowledge of the beers available. We were here for a business meeting, and although very casual atmosphere, the whole group thoroughly loved the food. Seating is wooden and a little uncomfortable after a while, but the air con is great considering the humidity during summer. Basement setting,... More
