Good Belgian. We would probably return. There was only one waitress, who did well early on but struggled to keep up with every table as the restaurant filled. We had an appetizer, mussels, portobello sandwich, and a waffle. Enjoyed them, though the restaurant skimped on the fruit for the waffle... read more

St. Arnold's is a Washington, D.C. culinary gem. It is a Belgian themed bar with 21 imported Belgian beers (I think that's the number!). Even if you don't like beers like me you can tell them that you like red wine instead and they will match a beer to that taste. Its incredible. The owner/bartender Peter Cosimano is without a... We had an appetizer, mussels, portobello sandwich, and a waffle. Enjoyed them, though the restaurant skimped on the fruit for the waffle (one thimble of berries). If you don't like mussels or Belgian beers, this isn't the place for you. But, if you do, both are good, service was friendly and attentive, and the dive-bar vibe was just what we were looking for. Our group also tried the meatloaf and steak w/frites. Both were solid, but not outstanding.

Okay so here's the deal: Mussels and beer. That's it. Now they claim to have (and probably do) have googobs of Belgian beers; lots of them on tap. yo can have your mussels cooked in pretty much any of the beers and they are happy to also throw in a variety of things to flavor the mussels e.g. jalapenos, shallots,... We were meeting our nephew and his girlfriend for dinner and they suggested this place. Great choice. It reminded me of restaurants in NYC, small and packed. The food was very good and Mark, the bartender, was very personable.

Go here just for the perfectly battered, spiced and cooked onion rings. Those are worth it by themselves. And the entrees at our table were all B+ or better -- burger, mussels and steak at our table. Frites were also really good. A super gracious staff completed a fun night.

Two of my girlfriends and I were on an 11 day road trip and DC was our second to last stop. One of my friend's dad, recommended St. Arnold's Mussel Bar on Jefferson. It was a hole-in-the wall bar. I was a little skeptical at first, since there was only one other couple there, but it picked up by the... More

Go for the Tha Curry Mussels and try five different kinds of beer, including the Delirium Red! Friendly service, great food, very comfortable place with character to spare....

My review is more about the obnoxious table of people by us than the quality of food or service. After reading such great reviews on Yelp on TA we were really excited to go. We came for lunch and were greeted promptly. There was a table close to us that held one really obnoxious guy who was loud and rude... More
