We came on a Saturday night and it was not easy to find a table for the group of 7, but that was expected. Short beer list but they are decent. They offer a huge mug, double the size for double the cost, which is not a better price but fun due to how large it is. Costs $14 for... More

This place rocks! Was in town for the weekend and in the mood for BBQ. So glad we came across Standard. We walked up and it reminded me of a German beer garden. Haven been to the real Hofbrau house in Munich the long tables and benches and the rowdy crowd was a dose of nostalgia! We were ordering takeout,... More

If you time it right, it's a festive, small outdoor afternoon BBQ place on DC's hip 14th St. corridor. Otherwise, it's too packed with little air flow. There's no organized seating - which is usually awkward with everyone hovering. That spills over to service - it's fine but they always seem like they're trying to get their bearings. The bar... During the summer last year I was a frequent customer at Standard. The atmosphere is great and the food is well done too. I'm sure others have mentioned it, but you should definitely get a donut, they are divine. Don't pass up the BBQ either, it's seriously good. The beer list is short but it keeps the quality top-notch and... More

if u are ever in DC for a visit, stop into the Standard for a brisket sandwich, ale and onion rings...or a whole pig's head! Whatever floats your boat. But it will not disappoint. Grab a free spot on a bench (if u find room. Quite popular among locals) and grab a huge mug of beer! Relax, converse and enjoy... More

I was shopping for furniture at GoodWood and had the pleasure of passing this beer garden on the way to Home Rule... On the way back, we couldn't resist. My friend and I sat down next to a young man reading (always a good sign). We ordered yummy brats grilled just right and tasty brew. It began to rain and... More

This place it's really nice.It has a good patio with comunal tables. And during the summer it's always crowded. It's a nice place to meet friends and drink. * Note: A day when everything went wrong. When we arrived it was a very hot night and a few minutes later we were experiencing a "derecho". It was an incredible moment.... More

Warm holiday weekend evening, mostly younger clientele (but not kids). Seating at communal tables. Prompt, helpful, and attentive service. No rushing. Tastes good.

Found this online when searching for a place to take a mixed group of Americans and visitors from other countries and am VERY disappointed that we chose another location. Very simple menu with great draft beer and perhaps the best pulled pork 'q' sandwich with 'slaw' I've ever had. HIGHLY recommended. Only challenge is if it is raining, only about... More

Staff was great and if we were beer drinkers perhaps would have enjoyed our meal more. I got the pulled pork which was ordinary with no depth of flavor or smokiness. Wife got the brat which she liked, but a little too peppery for me. Did have a nice snap to the casing. Onion rings pretty good but the wife... More
