Fries Were The Highlight

The mussels were overdone, the beer was warm, the potato-leek soup tasted as though a potato had been dragged through warm milk, and the brussel sprouts were underdone. Service was good as were the French Fries.

Unless you are looking for a 3 hour dinner with terrible service, you may want to look elsewhere for Belgian food (ie, Et Voila across the street, which is hands down much better). Bad sign #1: As we were being seated, a gentleman approached the owner/manage and threatened to leave because they weren't being served. Bad sign #2: We had... More

Maybe we visited on an "off" night, but we found the restaurant to be fairly unwelcoming. The owners, kitchen and wait staff were having serious issues, which were apparent to all guests. Nothing worse than feeling like you've just walked into the middle of a family argument - especially when you're goal is to enjoy a quiet dinner for two,... More

We went for dinner on a quiet holiday weekend night. It doesn't look like much from the signage outside, but walk in and it's quite charming. We were promptly seated and water was poured. Our server quickly offered to take our drink order, but as there's a full bar, wine list, and extensive Belgian beer list, we needed a minute.... More

Fantastic selection of mussels and Belgian beers. Reasonably priced. Good sized portions. Service can be hit or miss, but usually fine.

The Lobster Bisque was a bit salty for my taste but the Lamb was very good. The place was nice and quiet. The server was attentive and not annoying. The place had a homey feeling. Limited outdoor seating though. Will be back to try something else maybe i would be wowed...

Mussels were outstanding, the rest not so much. Slooooow kitchen despite a small house, distracted server who made a lot of mistakes, disappointing food. The house special turned out to be Campbell's Tomato soup with a little sherry and 2 small pieces of what I assume was lobster although it was difficult to be certain since they were still frozen.... I think this is the best restaurant in DC for a pot of mussels and pomme frites. The meal starts off with the best homemade baguette you can get in any restaurant in town. I love the Greek woman who serves tables in this restaurant - no pushiness and no pretensions, just old-fashioned hospitality. Love it in this homey neighborhood... More

The food is very, very good. Many wonderful mussel choices, served in huge steamers. The steak pomme frites is the real thing, so is the bread, and so is the butter. The sausages are lovely, as are the brussel sprouts. The prices are much better than Salt and Pepper or Et Voila. Recently, the service has been a bit spotty.

Me and my husband used to live in Belgium for over 2 years . So glad we found this spot , such a cozy place. I ordered duck breast , cooked to perfection, and well presented . I tasted some of the mussel Snob pot , very delicious. Mussels must be the best in DC .The wait stuff seemed very friendly... More
