Excellent meal and good, attentive service. An impressive menu (delicious collection of steaks and seafood though we didn't order any of the latter), of a very high quality, and the waitress was happy to offer smaller, child friendly meals for our nine year old. Good knowledge of the menu as well as the wine list. Definitely a restaurant to which... More

We celebrated my son's birthday there and we were surprised with such kindness and good service. The meat was one of the best I ever tasted. We had a great experience.

Had a very nice Saturday lunch with my wife sitting at the bar. The bartender, Moira, was very nice and friendly. The restaurant was decorated for the season. Very interesting presentation on the cobb salad--served with excellent tenderloin strips. My wife had the burger with fries. Great location at 6th & Pennsylvania Ave, NW, in view of the Capitol (hence... More

This fish is actually called a Patagonian Tooth Fish, from the frigid waters around Antarctica, and due to the cold, only grows a single millimeter PER YEAR. They cannot sustain their numbers, and if they go, the entire eco system will collapse. Don't order it if you go there, or anywhere else! Also, a crying baby in a high chair... More

I went here with some business associates, and we had a great evening. Very elegant but not over the top, great steaks and wines, good service from very professional staff. Not cheap, but worth the money! On top of that great location near many DC hotspots, and it is clear that the beautiful and bright young people of Washington know... More

We were seated near a large group who were very vulgar and lots of swearing. We requested to be move, but were move only slightly and they continued with their vulgar, dirty talk, so we left. The waiters and hostess attempted to seat us up front in the bar, but we felt we deserved the full dining room experience and... More

Super meal. The lobster mac and cheese was devine. More than enough food that we left food on our plate. Great atmosphere. Very attentive service from Tom, our waiter. In sum, well worth the cost for a special evening out.

This is a great place to have a nice dinner in the heart of D.C. We were in town for Thanksgiving and had a wonderful Thanksgiving feast with impeccable service. They were a little late in seating us, but to make up for it, gave us a huge plate of calamari and baby octopus that was some of the best... More

It is hard to believe that anything with Capital in it would be quiet and calm, but The Capital Grille was. The clam chowder and lobster bisque was some of the best tasting outside of Boston. The steak sandwich was enough to share for two. Our server, although busy, did not miss a beat, keeping our glasses full and removing plates... More

While I normally avoid chain restaurants, the Capital Grill normally is very consistent across locations. This one did not disappoint, and I was happy to enjoy my meal like i do at the locations in NYC.
