Clubby place that invites everyone to join the club

This is an old classic very near the Capitol, thus a favourite of lawmakers, lawyers and lobbyists. The food is excellent, the service exquisite no matter who you are, and the interesting decor is part of the charm. My husband wanted to surprise me with a birthday steak lunch and thanks to the staff and service I had a great birthday lunch. He made a reservation so we did not have to wait. The staff all wished me a happy birthday as we were directed to a table that was decorated with confetti. We started with a cab... More

The Capital Grille is a favorite for special occasions. The meal can get a bit pricey, yet the steak and seafood is always fantastic. Their menu specials, such as an espresso-rubbed ribeye, never disappoint. In addition, the servers are wonderful and always recommend wine to compliment the meal.

Wonderful service by an amazing server. The food was also fantastic, especially the steak. The calamari was really good and so was the lobster bisque. Not a lot on the kids' menu but ours was able to enjoy his burger. Definitely worth the visit, albeit pricey.

The Capital Grille is the classic steakhouse setting. The rib eye and the seafood are great. The servers are knowledgeable and friendly. Great place to go for a special occasion or a casual family dinner.

I have been dining at the Capital Grille in Washington, DC for many years now. The restaurant has a great staff and the menu is excellent. The steaks are among the very best in any restaurant in Washington, always served perfectly with sides that are also outstanding. They also served us a crab cocktail that was out of this world.... With the Hawk and Dove gone all up market, the Captiol Grille is the favorite of the young hill staffers. Good bar food, good beers, good times. Be sure to peruse the political memorabilia, especially the Nixioniana. If there's no room upstairs, try the basement.

Part of a chain. Very upscale. Great food acordng to your desire. Fine service. Menu has much more than steak. Elegant atmosphere. This particular location is frequented by residents, business women and men, and many politicians. Suggest reservations as it is sometimes difficult to get a table.

Let me first start by saying that my wife and I really, really wanted to love this place and were very excited to be visiting D.C. We were spending the weekend at the Mandarin Oriental and wanted to try someplace new, however this was not the case, in fact it ended up being the most unsatisfactory dinner my wife and... More

Had dinner one of the evenings in this restaurant. We had to wait for a few minutes to be ushered to a table. We were a party of 10. Service was great. The food, absolutely sumptuous!! The best I have had in a very long time. Had a Crab Cocktail and a steak. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and will... More
