Great family place!

Meals are served family style and you gets lots of food at a fair price. The food was tasty and the servers (we had Brittany) are fantastic. They gave us attentive service and were friendly and efficient. The location couldn't be better when visiting the museums and monuments.

We took our boss for his birthday. It was lunch so not too crowded. Food was great, waiter was OK but not as attentive as he could be since the place was not that crowded. Will be going back. More fun with large groups I think. Very large portions, plan on having enough for the next day.

At the recommendation of a friend and Will Thomas, Channel 5 news. The food was delicious, the servers were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. The environment was full of happy customers.

We visited Carmines with a family of 6 not knowing anything about the place except from New York reviews, We were impressed with service and food . The servers were very helpful with suggestions for us and they explained how large the entrees and how many it served. We were more than pleased at the end of the meal. The... More

My wife and I had our Valentine's Dinner at Carmine's. Upon finding out that this was our first time in the restaurant, our waitress warned us that this was family style and be careful as to our order. We ordered the Chicken Marsala and spaghetti and the dish that came was so large that we both had two plates each... More

I've been to two of the Carmine's locations and both are equally good. This particular restaurant is huge and has many rooms to dine. In the winter, request to sit near the fire place. We were warm and cosy there. I felt a draft near the entrance. As far as the food, the Chicken Parmesan was excellent. The cutlets were... More

Walk into Carmines in Penn Quarter and its like you never left New York City. This is real New York Italian. Veal and pasta dishes are great. So are the fried calmari. Listen and you can hear lots of thick transplanted New Yorker accents as this is where they go for a taste of home. Has a number of special... More

Was there this past weekend on a family trip to DC. We were a table of 9, seated promptly and were attended to quickly. Service was good and the food, for family style large portion service, very good. Just me mindful when ordering, the portions are large. Even if you're a bunch of big eaters, you should be careful. I... More

Oh my to the size of the portions! Pay attention to the menu guide and let your Server help you determine how much food to order or you'll take a lot home! My husband and I shared the lunch Ravioli. I am, admittedly, a ravioli snob. I've had such great fresh pasta when traveling in Italy that I don't do... More

Carmines in NYC is one of my favorite restaurants any where. Decided to try the DC location and was disappointed. We always get the Ragu with Angel Hair and the pasta was poorly cooked. Stuck together in clumps and over cooked. We are use to the server dishing up the first serving whether it be the salads or entree but... More
