Carmine's is a family style restaurant offering exceptional value to its guests through the many dishes of Southern Italian cuisine. The Carmine's concept is to bring its guests a "wow-factor" sized portions and making any meal feel like an Italian American wedding feast. Platters of homestyle antipasto, pasta, decadent seafood or meat entrees, and of course homemade desserts are all staples at Carmine's, meant for sharing amongst friends and family. When great food and wine are supported by friendly and knowledgeable service, the results are magic - we want every day to feel like a Sunday afternoon at Grandma's.

Before going to Carmine's we had several people tell us the portions were big, but we HAD NO IDEA!!! This Italian restaurant serves "family style" a house salad and spaghetti dinner we ordered (one serving) was big enough to serve at least 5 and possibly 6 healthy eaters. We felt bad but more than 1/2 the food we got remained... More

We went while visiting with friends. Family style dining was a nice change. We had 7 people and two dishes was more than enough food! It was a bit pricey, but the food was delicious.

We came here with our kids. Our kids had a hard time understanding family style so we had lots of leftovers. We had the spaghetti and meatballs. Six giant meatballs with loads of angel hair pasta. The sauce was so yummy. We also had the rotini with sausage and broccoli with the garlic sauce. Hard to decide what was better.... More

A few blocks walk from the sculpture garden and other D.C. tourist favorites. Family style plates each serves close to six hungry men! Not a great option if you have people in the group with different allergies/aversions. Great option if you love Italian. Tip: Book a reservation on open table, even as you are walking in the door, and jump... More

I've been to Carmine's before, and while decent, wasn't overwhelmed. This experience was much different. We had 4 adults and 4 children, so we were prepared for anything. Frank, our server, was fantastic. He brought out the kids' meals first to keep them occupied and made sure they always had a plate in front of them (bringing their dessert while... More

We celebrated a family event at this restaurant on July 18, 2015. The servings are family style and way over priced - $44 for a pitcher of sangria, $28 for casear salad that feeds 3, 2 drinks were $24.50 and if you add pasta to the entree (average price of entrees are $28-38 which feeds 2-3 people, if you're not... I highly recommend this restaurant for families and/or group of friends. The high prices are not high-each dish feeds 2-4 people and children will love the pasta! Word to the wise (and famished) one dish will feed two big and hungry adult eaters. For average eaters, it can feed four. Desserts sounded put of this world, prices also good as... More

They mean it when they say serves six. We went as four, ordered one app and one main, it was plenty. Service was so so, we had to ask for our bread, and definitely had no room for dessert. But still fun and yummy.

MOST IMPORTANT THING: Family dining only for dinner. Don't go is there are less than three people. Food was good but not great. Service was below average. I will not eat here again.
