Churchkey is one of (or THE best?) best places in DC to get beer. I love their extensive selection, but I also love their staff, who are willing to mull over menu choices with you and make recommendations. I've been with beer aficionados and beer noobs both, and the staff treats everyone with equal amounts of respect. Whenever I'm craving... More

Lets face it, you are here for the beer. Lots of beer, glorious beer that you likely cannot find anywhere else. This is one of the best beer bars in america. While you are bathing in malt beverages you might notice that they have food. When you dig in a little bit you discover that this food is made in... More

Homemade pasta in a beer joint! So many choices but the staff made it easy to narrow down to your beer preferences. Very patient bartenders and they know their business at Churchkey.

My fellow gluten free friend and I came here to try out their gluten free flatbreads that I had heard about. We were quite pleased! The beer list is quite impressive- even overwhelming. Their endless pages of beer selections even included a section of gluten free bottles of beer! And another lengthy section of bottled ciders. Gluten free or not,... More

This place has a simply great selection of beers, did not try the food as I got a walk in table at Birch and Barley (downstairs). Service was good, with attentive bartenders, even though the place was quite crowded (friday night).

I can't comment on the food because I didn't get anything to eat. The menu looked good and I would like to go back and try it. Let's get to the good part! The beer menu is amazing. Front and back listed by style of whats on tap and the 6 on CASK! They also have a huge bottle selection.... More

The upstairs bar is long and has plenty of seats. Always a good looking crowd with a good buzz of sound. The beer selection is one of the best in town too!

50 drafts, 500 bottles and 5 cask ales. That's a lot of damn beer. AMBIANCE ======== Located upstairs of Birch & Barley. Super crowded on weekends. Lots of BROS. FOOD ===== CRISPY CHICKEN & GRAIN SALAD - $10 Wheat berries, quinoa, millet, kale, pecorino, and almond tasted great with that crispy chicken. RATING: 4/5 GRILLED CHEESE - $7 Parkerhouse loaf,... Tons of great beer choices. We grabbed one of the last open spots (6pm on a Friday was packed!) and our server had lots of suggestions for beers. I enjoyed trying quite a few small size beers! We also had a few appetizers, which were good but not excellent.

Massive range of great beer. Bar staff who 100% know their stuff even if, like me, you're not a huge beer drinker, they will recommend something delish! Food perfect, a great ,chilled bar, ideal for after work conviviality. My colleague went several times on our trip, being the real ale fiend he is. Well worth a visit (or 3).
