Zentan is your DC destination for Modern Pan Asian Cuisine. Our ambiance is perfect for social events, dates, meetings and celebrations and is rivaled only by our chef inspired, seasonal cuisine and handcrafted cocktails. Our sushi is sustainable, flown in fresh and crafted into cold plates and maki’s you won’t find anywhere else. Iffy about raw food? Not a problem! Our extensive selection of Modern Pan Asian cold and hot plates are sure to satisfy any pallet. Each dish is served from the kitchen as soon as it’s prepared; just think Asian Tapas! Here are a few dishes to whet your appetite: Myazaki Beef Hot Rock (cook it yourself, japanese river rock) Peking Chicken (bao buns, black garlic hoisin, cucumber) Maguro Crudo (goat cheese, fuji apples, pumpkin seed oil) Shagalicious (crab salad, cucumber, miazaki beef, tempura ebi, crispy leek)

Japanese-inspired tapas - pretty tasty, if a bit pricey

We were stuck in a nearby hotel during Snowzilla 2016, so this was the only place open nearby. Thank you, Jubi, for braving the storm to venture out and dine with us at Zentan. We were certainly glad we were able to provide our same level of service and quality dishes during "Snowzilla 2016." Your kind words are very appreciated and we hope you'll visit us again, hopefully during better conditions! Kanpai! Lindsay D. More

Part of the Donovan hotel, this restaurant is underrated in my view. Great service and presentation at a mid-high range price for top quality Japanese fusion food. Chicken skewers were the stand out dish for me.

Our group of three came for lunch on a blizzardly Saturday. We were seated quickly and the service was attentive. Two people ordered the Miso spicy noodle bowl and one person had the vegetable & brown rice combo. The noodles were very sparse and it was not at all spicy. The pork was loaded with fat and unappealing. The broth... More

Zentan has amazing dishes to try. The sushi was awesome, the brussel sprout appetizer was amazing. This is a stop on your trip to DC. In the Donovan Hotel.

Most hotel restaurants suck. The Kimpton ones are usually better, and this one is great. I would come here even if not staying here.

During our stay at The Donovan hotel, we thought we'd try this highly rated restaurant. Tapas style Japanese. With interesting flavours and buzzing atmosphere, it was Japanese with a difference. Small portions are ideal if you are not too hungry. The chicken skewer was the standout. A little on the pricy side, was it the " best Japanese" I ever... More

This would undoubtedly be he best meal we have had throughout our tour of the East Coast, Every dish, and the menu is quite extensive, was a taste sensation. We were staying at the Washington Plaza and due to the cold decided to dine close by - what a find!! Would highly recommend to all

We spent New Year's Eve here for dinner, we tried a range of dishes which were all delicious. Favourites were katsu pork, skewers and the molten lava cake for dessert. There is a good range of sakes which we tried a few of. Venue decor and atmosphere was perfect.
