Description: Pitango Gelato creates authentic gelato focusing on classic Italian flavors rather than novelties or trends. Made with grass-fed organic milk from a single-herd farm and fresh organic fruit and nuts, our products contain no flavorings, no colorings, nor artificial ingredients of any kind. We also our coffee very seriously. It is made with organic, single-estate beans roasted especially for us in small batches by a local boutique roaster. We use a traditional espresso machine that requires some fussing and banging but delivers a perfect shot every time. And we make our cappuccino with organic grass-fed milk, steamed for every individual order.

As a gelato fan, I'm pretty finicky about this frozen confection. I take great pains to taste gelato offerings in the cities I visit...for the purposes of research, of course. Pitango has wonderful gelato. Some interesting flavors. Pistachio is the flavor I judge all gelato. Pitango delivered. Creamy, capturing the authentic flavor of pistachio. The other flavors were excellent as... More

Was excited to realise this place was close to the hotel. Was surprised that it was not crowded. Tried gelato here twice. Hazelnut first time. Almond the second. The hazelnut was good -but better exists. The almond was okay, simply because it was gelato. The service the first time was excellent . The service the next day around noon -when... More

After a disappointing visit to another Gelato place (Campono - avoid it!), Pitango was great. It is a bit pricy, but it's worth it for a splurge. Pineapple flavor and mango flavor were amazing!

Good gelato and sorbets, but not the best! They are pricey for what you get and the flavors are not intense.

This is the best gelato I've ever had! And it should be too..their gelato is made fresh everyday in the store with milk that comes from the cow in the same day! There are yummy flavors such as pistachio and almond to choose from. My favorite flavor was green tea!

After living 8+ years in Italy, I am picky about my ice cream and coffee. Hard to find good gelato and cappuccinos in the US...But Washington DC has Pitango and every time I visit my sister there, Pitango ranks high on my "to-do" list. Home made rich, creamy ice cream with a wide assortment of flavors - plus strong, aromatic... More

You will not be disappointed! It started out with my husband and I each having the two-flavored "single". He had canteloupe/pistachio and I had the chocolate noir and mango. They were so good that I then ordered a triple with tangerine, raspberry and coconut chocolate chip! They were all great, (favorites were pistachio and coconut chocolate chip) and we will... More

Excellent gelato in DC!! Must try the chocolate noir (dark chocolate at its best) as well as the stracciatella! Can mix more than 1 flavor per serving. Coffee and tea are available as well. Absolutely loved it!

I've had gelato all over the country, and this was by far the best. The chocolate chocolate chip and chocolate noir will make you forget you ever had gelato anywhere else. They make their gelato on site and you will only be disappointed if you don't order enough. It is outstanding.

Better than gelato in Italy, but a little pricey...Long line, but goes somewhat quickly. The best flavors we tried: blackberry, pineapple, chocolate noir, vanilla chocolate chip, cantaloupe, passion fruit. All natural ingredients! Free wifi!
