I know... I’m a sucker for these kinds of old-school dining rooms. My waiter was great. Bobby. We had a nice visit about life, fine dining, old-school dinner menus and dish preparations. It was funny... A couple of wanna-be, 35-ish, thought-they-are-hotshots, dudes in their Banana Republic summer... read more

Soooo disappointing. Decor old style lovely and fully expected either the mafia hang (OK, I lived in NJ so it was reminiscent) or government folks...it had that old school quality and ambiance, which was all good. But, the food, however, really fell short. The special rib steak, 18 oz.!, was not cooked to specification and had to be returned; it... More

When I was planning our five-day stay in Washington, D.C., and arranging for reservations at five restaurants, I was eager to select restaurants that were within walking distance of our hotel, the Willard. Except for The Prime Rib, which is a taxi ride from 14th and Pennsylvania to 2020 K Street Northwest. Why make an exception for The Prime Rib?... More

Obviously from most reviews it is just as memorable. Considering creating the memory fir my NYC grand daughter this Friday. . Now deaf myself, wearing so much acoustical equipment, how delightful it would be to meet in a place we could actually have a conversation !

This place has the best prime rib I have ever had. Period. The ambiance can't be beat and the food is incredible. Definitely worth the price. Unfortunately they did not participate in restaurant week last year so if you can't afford the hefty price, save up before you come here.

They require a Jacket...in June! And it is worth it. Get the prime rib, and the corn off the cob. Enough said. The horseradish sauce is perfect, the au jus not too salty. Always cooked exactly as ordered. And the waiters are friendly, the drinks generous.

Our cab driver recommended The Prime Rib when we didn't know where to eat. My husband and I prefer and appreciate upscale dining, so it seemed like a great fit. The Prime Rib is an establishment that has a lot of history and longevity, but I wouldn't eat there again. When we entered we were greeted by the maitre de,... More

I recently joined some college classmates for a significant reunion, one ending with a zero. We had dinner at The Prime Rib in Washington, DC, suitably formal for the occasion. This is a great steak house. There are two other locations, Philadelphia and Baltimore. Their beef comes from a specialty supplier and is the highest quality. With my first bite,... More

The Prime Rib is probably the most relaxing, comfortable, and pleasant restaurants I have ever been in during nearly 72 years on the planet. Things one does not commonly consider stand out: the comfort and support of the chairs, the height of the tables, the clear but subdued lighting levels (still bright enough to read the menu without strain). The... More

We have been told for years by friends to have dinner at The Prime Rib on K Street in Washington and we recently had the opportunity. It met all expectations. The dining room is lovely (we had a table for two in the front portion that was along a divider wall-perfect location. The staff was very attentive and friendly. We... More
